MH World before you unlock the taxi mount nailed it perfectly. Find tracks -> Tracks lead you to monster -> Fight. Old gen tracking sucked and is nostalgia bait. You literally were just running randomly arround and hoped that you fight the monster before it changes location

Yeah no. I play 4u from time to time and not knowing where the monster is, searching the whole map twice over because it keeps moving by the time you get there and then it moves again, is absolute atrocious. Making a 5 min hunt 30+ minutes, not fun. It should be left in the past

Genuine question, do people really feel like they are "tracking" the monster in old gen? All my life I only played old gen and to this day there wasn't a single hunt that I seen any hint of "tracking". Sometimes the monster isn't even on the place that makes the most sense

yea, we kinda just speedrun the game now compared to how it was back in the day. I do love both gameplays tho, nothing bad from either for me.

I miss having to look for it. Having my friends split up and check different zones. Then of course no body paint balling it and having to look for it again.

I love Old Gen. Its where I started. But goddamn, I play Monster Hunter for the Hunts. Not for the running around. Granted, I'd rather track the monster than what we do in Wilds.

while i do like knowing where monsters are, the autopilot birds in wilds have robbed people of experiencing the maps in the game. no one i play with can tell me what zone 7 is in scarlet forest. old gen's experience of exploring maps and remembering spawn locations is fun.

That's why it's called new gen because you can't expect people with shortened attention span to try to look for a monster

Whats funny about the left is that its Portable 3rd, a game where an npc sells psychoserum by the quest gate so you can immediately find the monsters on the map.

can i get old gen searching for the monster but with a seikrit that doesn’t auto track unless the monster is found and/or painted
