R.I.P. Richard "Beebo" Russell (1989 - 2018) In August 2018, Richard “Beebo” Russell, a 29-year-old ground service agent at Seattle Airport, using his ground clearance, he got into the cockpit of a Horizon Air Q400 aircraft. Even though he had never operated an aircraft before, he managed to start the plane, taxi it onto the runway, and take off. I had the thrill of a lifetime getting to sing backup for Monte Warden at the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday. I feel like I've been floating for days. My husband and I have been huge fans of Monte -- an absolute Texas legend -- for years. He has two great bands -- the Wagoneers and The Dangerous Few. We've seen both at their Austin residencies (at the famous Broken Spoke and Parker Jazz Club, respectively) and in other locales. I got to be backstage last year when he performed solo at the Opry. It's weird to have an inanimate object give off such an energy as the Opry stage does. Everyone who matters has sung from there and you can totally feel that. The crowd on Saturday night was AWESOME. They were there to have fun and be entertained and had a great energy also. It was the anniversary of Elvis's death so Monte sang the two songs Elvis performed at the Opry in 1954 -- Blue Moon of Kentucky and That's All Right. Elvis received a famously tough reception, with the crowd thinking he was way too rock n' roll for a country music stage. As he left the stage, one guy told him he should probably just go back to Memphis and keep driving a truck. He would never perform there again. Monte told the crowd he hoped for a better reception and boy did they provide. Monte also performed a spiritual he wrote with his beautiful wife Brandi (who also sang BGV and is one of my favorite people on earth) called Steadfast Love. And we got to sing back up on that as well. Legends T. Graham Brown and Don Schlitz played that night as did newer artists Jordan Davis and Kylie Morgan -- it was so fun to meet them and watch them from backstage. Also this absolutely phenomenal bluegrass kid named Wyatt Ellis. We got ready in Porter Wagoner's old dressing room, decorated with photos of his career and some of his famous garb. Monte joked that night to the crowd that if you ever get the opportunity to perform at the Opry, you should do so. I COULD NOT agree more. Here's a bit of us singing Steadfast Love.

I’ve been feeling heavy today and thinking about the Reiner family. I wanted to share this clip from my interview with Carl Reiner because it captures something I’ll always treasure. Just before we went live — while the opening titles were playing — I sat down across from Carl, casually took off my shoes as if getting comfortable, then opened a box and pulled out an identical pair and put them on. It was completely absurd, very subtle, and meant only for him. The audience never saw it — Carl was the only one who witnessed this ridiculous little moment. He looked genuinely puzzled for a beat, trying to process what he’d just seen, and then we were live! As you see in this clip he laughed and then said I was either a genius or an idiot. Coming from Carl Reiner, I’ll take either. Carl had a rare gift for recognizing and appreciating silliness in its purest form. In light of recent heartbreaking news, I send my deepest condolences and love to his family. May the laughter he gave the world continue to bring some comfort during an unimaginably difficult time.

PD's thoughts after watching ENHYPEN's Killing Voice: • Thinks Moonstruck is one of their best songs ever • Heeseung was the MVP • His top 3 vocalists: Heeseung, Jay, and Jake (in that order) • Heeseung is clearly in a league of his own. He's a savant when it comes to singing and just on a whole other level compared to the rest of the members • He feels like Jay could easily be the main vocalist in another group. full story of jihoon’s pov of jeongwoo falling at the airport. guys its very long but jihoon was so detailed its so funny 😭 he could not stop laughing while telling the story 🐶 we were getting out of the van at the airport. it was me, Junghwan, Jeongwoo and maybe Ruto was there too? there were four of us in the van. Jeongwoo and I were talking while getting out. 🐶 but actually this story is only funny if you can see it with actions. it doesn’t hit the same when I just say it. next time i’ll do a live with my face camera on and i’ll act it out for you. the physical comedy is what makes it so funny 🐶 so I got out first -> Jeongwoo -> Junghwan. as I was stepping out, I turned around and was saying something “jeongwoo dhsbsjwbsjs”. 🐶 jeongwoo was still talking to me while getting off the van. the van was pretty high and had steps. as he was coming down, the sheet slipped and he almost fell backwards. he managed to save himself tho. how should I illustrate this… 🐶 ok this might not be the best example, but imagine you’re walking along the Han River and someone is riding a bike toward you from the opposite direction. then suddenly that person falls off their bike. 🐶 at first you’re like “oh? are they okay?” thats the first thing that comes to mind. but later once you know they’re okay and you think back on it.. when someone suddenly faces danger, you know the instinctive expression and body language they make while trying to escape that situation? 🐶 like that desperate look and movement right before they’re about to fall. you all know what I mean right? 🐶 thats exactly what Park Jeongwoo did 🐶 Jeongwoo’s tall. he’s around 180 cm tall. and while he was talking to me, he suddenly went “OHOHHHH 😮” while flailing around for about two seconds 🐶 it was just his body’s instinctive reaction to avoid getting hurt. I saw all of that. 🐶 at first I was startled too because it would’ve been bad if he’d actually fallen backwards. 🐶 but Jeongwoo’s flailing was just really funny. he seriously flailed. so I was about to go “OH! jeongwoo-ya” but then he suddenly let out this huge sigh, and started acting as if nothing had happened. pretending to be completely natural and completely fine 🐶 the mat had slipped outside the van, so he suddenly dusted it off, neatly put it back where it belonged, and behind him Junghwan was just watching with this expression like “what is he doing?” 🐶 then all of a sudden, in the calmest voice, he said to Junghwan 🐺 junghwan-ah, be careful 🐶 he suddenly became Doyoung. I seriously thought his soul had switched with Doyoung’s 🐶 one second he was chatting with me about random things, then he almost fell, got the scare of his life, and after that sudden danger passed, he became unbelievably calm. too calm 🐶 he quietly cleaned everything up by himself, then went “Junghwan-ah, be careful~~” and acted as though nothing had happened. 🐶 then he turned back to me and continued naturally 🐺 ah hyung what were you saying? 🐶 he was trying so hard to act natural. seeing all that, I seriously couldn’t stop laughing. its so funny. I went, “Jeongwoo-ya…” and immediately started teasing him 🐶 the moment he realized i noticed, he got embarrassed. I think he wanted everyone to just let it slide and pretend it never happened, but because I pointed it out, he got embarrassed and started laughing too 🐶 evee since then, it’s become a meme between the two of us. even when we’re just walking somewhere completely flat grounds with no obstructions, one of us will suddenly go “WHOOAAAA. jeongwoo-ya, be careful~~~” 🐶 thats just become our inside joke. while walking he’ll randomly go 🐺 WHOOAAAA 🐶 what?? 🐺 hyung, be careful~~~ 🐶 thats become our meme. seriously though it’s one of those stories that’s only really funny if you can see the reenactment.

That’s a lot of people to say hi to while working but my hats off to you sir! Keep up the good work! He’s gotta be a real good mechanic because most guys would never let you watch them over their shoulder. Rebuilding an entire car in a parking lot WHILE having a meet and greet simultaneously. Dude is a legend. Lol i love this!
