I used to work a shitty retail job in a mall for a short time. I had a great vantage point to see the comings and goings of almost everyone in there during business hours. The social life of a life of 'stay at home mums' is great. They sit in cafes for hours, the kid(s) get a device to stare at, there's not a lot of stress, but a butt-ton of coffee, cake, and conversation. Then I'd see the odd dad pushing a kid in a stroller, and sometimes another one hanging off his chest, always on a mission, always alone. The difference was stark.

If she needs help around the house, get him another wife.

Well I can work 4 hours a day & make more than someone does working 8. Not all of our work is valued the same or means we keep the same hours. Could they afford for her to work full time & him to be at home with the kid, probably unlikely. These people always ignore nuance!
