That's because back then, profits went back into the products and manufacturing equipment. Today products are made with the least expensive materials and the profits go to the shareholders.

Yup. Consumption has been manufactured. If we aren’t buying new then they aren’t making money. Fuck the system

Makes me wanna cry

Now Fiat Standard. 60s' Gold Standard. That's the difference.

Corporate greed really took out good living

Built for utility durability and designed for a lifetime. Now we get the opposite. Planned obsolescence for future consumption, plastic parts that break within a year products designed to maximize shareholder value, then customer satisfaction.

>AMERICANS CANT BUILD THANGS We used to make everything and make it better than everyone else.

A common car in the 60s lol

For most of these things you're looking at luxury models of things of the past and imagining the past was better. No products were better for rich people, same as today. Simpler mechanisms do last longer though so that plays a part, but I often see these posts like "omg this fridge from 1950 has all these features, works perfectly, and it shows the original price only $250.00. ya. That's $3600.00 in today's money, I hope it has amazing features. And why are they still around? Because for the most part no one bothered to value the cheap crappy built things from the past so they got thrown out

Built in America vs. Built in China.

They realized making things to last wasn’t so profitable.

I blame the jooz

This is what happens in an inflationary economy

I love vintage! 🤩

Cheap Chinese crap. That is where your prosperity went.

Built in America with pride not DEI

old refrigerators are actually the coolest things ever. If only they weren't hazardous.

Actually When you really know what THEY STOLE FROM US / hard not to be so angry. I have had decades To Realize. Religion will be hard.

Enshitification has been happening for many decades at this point

Manufacture something every household needs, but make it so poorly made that it breaks in three years and you've effectively put everyone in the country on a subscription plan for refrigerators, washing machines, etc.

Does anyone who what kind of fridge that was and where can I buy it?

While not retro old old my Grandparents had a ambidextrous fridge, it could be opened from either side. Fantastic invention, should have been mandated by law. It finally gave up 20-30 years later, the motor etc not the door.

Back when the White man was running this country. Everything changed when the jews killed JFK.

All the old toys and products were built different Quality of a lifetime

Before greed ruined everything. Double the price and design it worse.

What is this song? Ask and it will given? 🤔

We know...the tiny hat mfs took control and destroyed everything for profit margins and cheap labor and are now at their final move of the plan. Ethnically cleansing white people from our countries that built all this.

Yeah but do you understand why?

I just finished restoring the fancy version.

Everything is plastic now

@HattenHelander They want to save the climate yet they want us to consume like crazy 🤡

@KAnnMaurer Older times had soul in the designs. Now everything lack soul & life all by design to bring our vibrations down to where our oppressors like it.

We need it back

Ahhh yes, the days of quality, service and craftsmanship!

This is a @rustbeltkid1 post
