Clint Eastwood was the first actor to be offered the role of Kay in "Men in Black" (1997) but he turned it down. Tommy Lee Jones also turned it down, feeling that the first draft of the script had not captured what he liked about the comic book when producers Parkes and MacDonald had first sent it to him; Jones has said that it was executive producer Steven Spielberg who persuaded him to change his mind, promising that the script would improve. ("Comic Book Movies", David Hughes, 2003) P.S: On this day, 29 years ago, "Men in Black" (1997) was released in the USA and Canada.
