He's a crap Ian Bell. Bowl a half-decent ball he makes it look amazing and gets out. He hasn't even managed that here. Now averaging 34 in his 48th Test. Averages 25 against India (despite the 196) and 16 against Australia. Is this the guy at 3 we want to win back the Ashes?

Pope clearly has so much work to do on both his technical AND mental game, that I think England should seriously consider taking him out of the line of fire for the rest of the summer. He’s got talent, but his decision making is dreadful.

I am just not sure he is that good, surely better options at 3 in the county game than Pope
