🚨 OLYMPIAN RYAN LOCHTE: "We started watching these people getting baptized, and something came into me, something so pure." "I'm going to start crying. It felt so real watching these people get baptized." "And I asked [my girlfriend], 'What is this?'" She said, "They're washing away their sins. They're...

Water baptism doesn't wash away your sins. Believing on the Lord Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross and his resurrection does. His shed blood is for our remission of sins. (Acts 10:43) "To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins."

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my pardon this I see: nothing but the blood of Jesus. For my cleansing this my plea: nothing but the blood of Jesus. Nothing can for sin atone: nothing but the blood of Jesus. Naught of good that I have done: nothing but the blood of Jesus. This is all my hope and peace: nothing but the blood of Jesus. This is all my righteousness: nothing but the blood of Jesus. O precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know; nothing but the blood of Jesus.

I'm pretty sure being baptized comes after accepting Christ as your savior. The act is to publicly display your trust in Jesus Christ. John 3:16! Get that message out. Water without belief gets you wet. Thats it!

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the close of the age.” — Matthew 28:18-20

@Johnny118 But did they accept Jesus as their Lord & Savior, knowing/believing his crucification? Only Jesus washes away our sins, baptism is a significant act of obedience to God and an outwardly acknowledgement of believing in Jesus.

Good move but hopefully he comes to understand the true meaning of baptism...dying to self, aligning with Christ's burial and resurrection, and submitting to Him as Lord.

If he was brought up catholic, then there’s a 99% chance he was already baptized as a baby and never asked his parents? Either way, glad he’s Christ centered. God bless him 🙏

Baptism doesn’t wash away your sins . Baptism is a public identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By faith we receive the gift of eternal life which is made possible because of the cross event. Repentance which is an essential element of faith is granted to us by the Lord.

If you were taught water baptism washes away your sins - you are still in your sins. I'm sick of these fake TV commentators and politicians trying to co-op the truth of Christianity Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV — For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Acts 26:18 KJV — To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Romans 3:25 — Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God

I'm troubled by Ryan's story. Baptism does not save. Embracing an adulterous lifestyle is a stumbling block. I hope he seeks sound spiritual guidance from a solidly biblical pastor. I DO hope he's at that great FAMILY REUNION in our future. "Go, and since no more."

Matthew 11 28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Rejoice in the Lord young swimmer. Faith saves and it is a gift from god that you will have forever. Start reading your bible. Keep repenting of all the new sins as you walk with Jesus. If you boast boast only in the cross of Christ. Not about how good you are. God saved you.

Being baptized does not wash away sins. There is no magic in water. You can only get your sins canceled by the application of the blood of Jesus applied to you on a spiritual basis. John 3:8. Seek Jesus on a spiritual basis until you find him spiritually.

@johnrackham82 Wonderful story! If he was a cradle Catholic he was probably already baptized as an infant. It seems he never came to understand and live the fullness of the Catholic faith as an adult. Otherwise he would have sought reconciliation through Confession instead of a second baptism.

The kid grew up Catholic, and he must have been baptized early on as a babe. That baptism takes precedence over the one he took part as an adult in a feel-good experience in a non-denominational church. He is still Catholic, with all the benefits and duties that bind us.

"And so sometimes like God speaks to me, I think primarily God speaks through me through action. And I think he speaks through everyone through action. You know, we like to talk a lot, but not a lot of people like to live it out. And I make mistakes, but I want to try to live it out to the best of my ability. I think secondly, through the way of communication, I've always had a heart to make complex ideas simpler to understand because I'm not a smart guy. I have a hard time reading Shakespeare and complex literature, so I like doing that. But sometimes I'll be sitting and talking with someone, and I feel like God tells me something about the person. They're struggling with something or if they've got a physical ailment and I'll ask. And sometimes it's true. Sometimes it's not. I'm not not discouraged if it's right or wrong, but if it's right, sometimes God speaks through that way. Those are a few ways God speaks through me, but, but the intrusive thing is so beautiful because I think he can speak to everyone intrusively and it is so sweet when it happens. And it was, it was happening this morning to me in the shower, which is so sweet and beautiful, you know. I struggle a lot with what people think about me because I've always struggled with people pleasing before being a Christian. And so, you know, if I'm misunderstood or someone takes something in the way that I didn't say it, I get hurt because I'm like, oh, I didn't mean it that way. Or, you know, whatever. So I'm kind of talking to Jesus and I'm in the shower praying and I'm going, man, God, I want to be more like you. I want to be how you want me to be. I want to love you. And I want to be your son. And I just want to focus on being yours. And I don't want to care what other people think. And this, this and that. And Jesus was speaking to me about some practical things I needed to do. Like it would help you if you, you know, stopped looking at what people say online. It would help if you deleted Instagram. And it would help if you did this. And, it would help if you would just trust other people to do what they're supposed to do. So you can focus on being mine. And I'm sitting there in the shower going like, wow, this is so good. And it's so hard, but it's so good." Bryce Crawford, Minister

Brad Jacobs on how to identify A players: "I do a mental exercise where I picture the person coming into my office and saying, 'Brad, I quit.' And then I try to feel and visualize what would be my reaction if that person came in to me and quit. If my reaction to that is, 'Yes! I don't want to smile, so I don't want to act like I'm happy about this. Nobody likes firing people. No problem at all, we'll replace them'—that's a C player. That's someone you should get the courage to get off the team right away. On the second category, if my reaction to it is, 'You know, it kind of sucks. I would've preferred that person stayed, but it's not the end of the world. We'll hire a headhunter. We'll get someone as good, maybe someone even better, and things will work out'—that's a B player. But if when I visualize that person quitting, my reaction to that is pure terror and absolute panic, and like somebody took a baseball bat and just whacked me in the stomach and then punched me in the face. I'm going, 'Oh my God! Like I'm never going to find someone as good as her. No way. I'm never going to have someone as talented as that person. I'm never going to have someone who brings to the table their particular superpower.' And I can't even hear what they're saying anymore because I'm just having this internal panic dialogue going on—that's what you call an A player. So I want all A players around me. I want people whose relationship with me I value so much that if it was terminated, I would be lost."

Fear of going to hell wasn’t the reason I accepted Jesus Christ.. I was at my lowest point in life. I hit rock bottom and I was about to jump out of a hotel window and end my life. I was ashamed of the sinful lifestyle I was living as an Onlyfans girl. The shame and the feeling of disgust was overwhelming. I hated my life, I hated the world and I felt like nobody loved me. For some time, I wanted to get out of that lifestyle. But after being deceived and tricked out of my money by a man I thought loved me, I ended up facing homelessness. I reflected on my life and all I could see was how much people had hurt me, the pain and suffering I had experienced in my life and I just wanted to escape all the feelings of sadness and shame. But I realized that it was all my fault. I was the one who made certain choices leading up to this situation. All I could think was “just kill yourself”, “you’ve ruined your life”, “no one cares about you”, “the world is better off without you”, “you’re just a whore”, “your family is ashamed of you”, “no one will ever marry you”, “you’re homeless and will suffer even more”, “you’re stupid”, and etc. In desperation, I cried out to God for the first time in life. I yelled at God and told Him that if He was real, He needed to show me He is real because I was ready to end it all. No one was there to stop me. I could easily jump out of the window and die without anyone intervening or knowing until it was done. I was at my breaking point, and I had accepted that this was it for me. After crying my entire heart out to God, I stood up off the floor ready to go open the window to carry out my ending. When I stood up, I instantly became lightheaded, I walked to the bed and layed down. As soon as my back hit the mattress I felt a presence I had never felt before ever in life. It was an overwhelming love that I can’t put into words, this presence came over my entire body and every single thought I had was silenced. I didn’t have a single thought, my mind went completely blank and all I could feel was overwhelming peace, love and it was so beautiful that I never wanted it to end. Every moment was better than the last and nothing was even happening. The best word I can use to describe it was pure bliss. The first thought I had was “I am here with you” I felt a tear come out of my eye. And I knew, that that was God. At that moment I was absolutely shocked. It’s an experience I will never forget and I will always long to be immersed in that bliss, peace and love again.. I went to sleep and the next morning, I posted on all my socials that I was quitting onlyfans and I wanted to give my life to God. Now, I didn’t know who God was. All I knew was that I had an encounter with God in that hotel room. I was raised a spiritist, and I never went to church and I had never read the Bible in my life. I didn’t know anything about this God. All I had known was sin, darkness and the brokenness I lived in up until that moment. After I posted that, a girl I had met one time asked if I wanted to go to church with her. This was the first time anyone had ever invited me to church. I said yes, and when I arrived I spoke to a woman there who told me about Jesus for the first time. I couldn’t believe it. I wanted to end my life, and Jesus wanted to give me a new life. The gospel hit me like a ton of bricks. I was in awe of this Jesus she spoke about. I wanted to know Him because He was unlike anyone I had ever met. After I accepted Christ, a group there huddled around me, prayed for me and I felt the same overwhelming presence again that I felt the night before. I now knew that Jesus is God. They asked me if I wanted to get baptized right on the spot and I agreed. Then they gave me my first Bible. I was born again as a new creation in Christ and it’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me. I used to be a victim. Now I’m more than a conqueror! Thank you Jesus!
