Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Sec. Vince Dizon vented his anger at DPWH engineers who took over the Sunog Apog Pumping Station in Manila on Wednesday, September 24. The project, funded in 2017 for ₱774 million, constructed in 2018, and inaugurated in 2020, has not been fully operational since then. The pumping station received an additional ₱94 million budget this year to make it operational, but DPWH engineers said ₱200 million more is needed to ensure it becomes fully functional. The DPWH Secretary has ordered a halt to its rehabilitation pending a full assessment of the project. Barangay officials said they never needed the pumping station in the first place, claiming they were not consulted before construction began. As a concerned citizen, I am calling on the Office of Senator Risa Hontiveros to address the recent issue highlighted by GMA News on TikTok about PhilHealth. People in the comment sections were linking the situation to her leadership as a former PhilHealth Board Member. I won’t stop defending her, but I believe it is important for her to debunk these allegations. It’s time to end the spread of misinformation and hold accountable those who propagate fake news against her.

Who among you knows about the 2019 acquittal of Joel Villanueva? Well, I must first agree that before declaring drastic actions the Ombudsman should have done his due diligence and had a thorough sweep of anything from his office about Joel Villanueva. But man! No one really knows about that reversal, huh? At first I thought that maybe I just missed it! But I figured that I have been writing a lot about Senator Villanueva since he sabotaged the plenary debate on the SOGIE bill early in the 19th Congress and a lot more of his terrible decisions/ drama/ speeches etc — I think if there were indeed articles about the reversal, I would have seen it. Then, a Rappler article confirmed that 1. No mention of the Ombudsman in any of Sen. Villanueva’s official social media pages 2. No Press Release from the Senate 3. Even reporters assigned to the institution said it’s unheard of. Well, in several instances that Senator Villanueva was under fire, he did not clarify this PDAF scam reversal. And he is not the type who shuts his mouth up. He’s actually the opposite. Truth be told? I cannot remember all the details of the Napoles list and the whole PDAF scam scandal. But I know for a fact that if the 2019 reversal was publicized — there will be an uproar from those who seek accountability. I think the new Ombudsman should create a task force within his office reviewing the decisions of predecessor. Who knows what else the public still are blinded of?

First, if you watch the actual clip he’s making the case for the limitless power of America’s military—as the Commander-in-Chief should. But if you watch the OPENING SECONDS of this Axios interview, he is asked about wielding power as a leader. His answer? “You have to do it judiciously.” Not one headline. Not one cable news segment. Just the same tired media spin and bullshit. People are so tired of this crap.
