Side note: your city might be offering free eclipse glasses near you! Check your local library (or in my case a pub)

My great aunt taught me the coolest way to safely watch an eclipse. Fill a shallow white bowl about halfway with water. Before the eclipse starts, go outside & place the bowl on the ground so you see the sun clearly in it. You can watch the eclipse like a movie! (Don't look up!)

Makes sense. I actually get blind spots when I look at my phone screen for too long without my contacts cause I have to have it like 2 inches from my face for about 20 minutes. Freaked me out, but the eye doctors found nothing wrong and we figured out it was the bright light.
