Kai this reminds me of my father’s yellow Benz. Almost every Saturday, it would be decorated with colorful balloons, ribbons, and words like “About to get married” or “Just got married.” There would be a cameraman standing on top of the car, and other cars following behind in a convoy. Loud love songs by Ebenezer Obey or Bayowa Gbenga Adewusi would be playing as they drove along. People on the road would stop, watch, wave, and shout congratulations to the couple. And as for me, I was always the little “bride,” walking beside a young boy, almost feeling like I was the one getting married. I really miss those days mehn!

This was just a skit, but the emotions it stirred in me are hard to put into words. Beyond that, it's such a real depiction of a typical Yoruba wedding in Lagos and I'm sure all over the Southwest That Mercedes was actually my first car, passed down to me by my father. I drove it all through my university days, fixed it countless times whenever it broke down… until one day it finally gave up on me at Iganmu, and I swear, I just left it there.

I remember there was one of the groomsmen that even forgot his suit at home that day again,I can never forget that day it was such a funny and interesting day for me😂😂,that my uncle is now in the UK with his wife and kids....uncle Abbey will be laughing if he sees this😂

I remember a wedding of one my uncle,the wedding was on Saturday and he went for bachelor's eve with his friends on Friday night at a club,they got so drunk on returning back.....they woke up so late on the wedding day around 10am after several missed calls from the in-laws 😂

This is so reminiscent of my Uncle's wedding in 1989. That era, celebrations were so genuine, exciting and uniting and everyone was heavily invested in the wedding.
