When I returned to India in 1992, I began displaying our National Flag with pride. But I was stopped and told that citizens could only fly the Tiranga on August 15 and January 26. I felt this restriction was deeply unfair to every Indian who loves our country. Driven by this conviction, I fought a 10-year legal battle. After seven intense years in the Supreme Court of India, a historic judgment was passed on January 23, 2004, declaring that flying the National Flag every day with dignity is a Fundamental Right guaranteed by our Constitution! 🇮🇳 As we celebrate #HarGharTiranga, seeing millions of citizens hoist the Tiranga daily with immense pride fills my heart with gratitude. Jai Hind!

August is a month deeply etched in the glorious history of our freedom struggle. As our Nation prepares to celebrate 80th Independence Day on August 15, today I had the privilege of participating in a vibrant 'Har Ghar Tiranga' Rally from Survey Building to Hazra More in the Bhabanipur Assembly Constituency, alongside fellow Nationalist Citizens. Together, we paid our deepest respects to the supreme sacrifices of our great Freedom Fighters and celebrated the enduring spirit of patriotism and nationalism. Responding to the inspiring call of our visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji, I proudly joined the "Har Ghar Tiranga" Campaign ahead of Independence Day to pay heartfelt tribute to Mother India. The burning of the National Flag in a political advertisement is treasonous. The National Flag is a sacred symbol of our unity and existence as a nation and to burn it is despicable. Any organisation that commits such an act, especially in the name of political expediency, is an organisation that seeks to destroy our country, that seeks to destroy our country’s unity and collective identity. People died for the National Flag. South Africans rally everyday around the National Flag. Burning the flag cannot be accepted.
