On a personal note…speaking as an American and not as a journalist…I was overwhelmed with deep emotion and overwhelming pride observing close up President Trump’s military review with President Xi of China today in the Rose Garden. Seeing President Trump, Vice President Vance, the First and Second Ladies and... Cabinet members standing alongside President Xi’s delegation (who look like my ancestors). I was closely watching our American leaders’ faces and I think they were feeling the same way I was. Watching the great members of our military march and perform. Seeing this up close at the White House right there in the Rose Garden. On a personal level I can’t believe how blessed I am to be a member of the White House Press Pool in a time such as this. …because my soul gets to be touched & reminded in moments like these how insanely beautiful it is to be an American.show more

My father was also a Purple Heart combat Vietnam Vet Marine and is now buried in Arlington Cemetery so seeing the Marines there also touched another thread in my soul❤️.
