Before the world knew them as The Beatles, it was just Paul and John, two kids with guitars. Paul McCartney sharing the story of the very first song he and John played together.

Cloudbeatles was filmed on January 7, 1969, at Twickenham Film Studios, London. The Beatles revisit "Across the Universe." The song was first recorded in February 1968. It features the phrase "Jai guru deva, om"—a Sanskrit phrase that roughly translates to "Victory over God." It appears to have been inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, whom The Beatles first met in August 1967.

“One and One Is Two” - Original Demo by Paul McCartney in early 1964. This song was intended to be given to Billy J Kramer and the Dakotas. In 1980, John Lennon later commented that this song was “another of Paul’s bad attempts at writing a song”

April 13, 1966, The Beatles began recording "Paperback Writer" at EMI Studios in London, developing it over several hours. Paul McCartney wrote it at his aunt’s request for a song “not about love.” - It was the lowest-selling song since "Love Me Do".

60 years ago today Paul McCartney recorded Yesterday in 2 takes after the other beatles had decided he should do it solo The first take can be heard on Anthology 2. This is the second take, the one we all know, without the string overdubs George Martin would add 3 days later.

Neil Young performed “Heart of Gold” for audiences before the world had even heard the finished record. Written during the sessions that produced Harvest, the song featured James Taylor and Linda Ronstadt on backing vocals when recorded in Nashville. Young played it at Massey Hall in 1971, more than a year before Harvest arrived. The studio version later became his only No. 1 single in the United States.

Wishing a very happy birthday to the legendary drummer of The Beatles, Ringo Starr, who turns 84 today🎉 Here in this video he tells a story he had with Paul McCartney. He basically tells that McCartney sent a song for Ringo Starr's EP album and the name of the song was 'The Sunshine Song'. The funny thing is that McCartney recorded the song and he even played the drums as well. When Ringo received the song and gave it a listen, they decided to take drum parts off the song and Ringo played the drums later on. 🎉🥁Happy birthday legend, thanks for all you contributed to Rock and Roll! #RingoStarr

Simon & Garfunkel performing 'The Boxer' live from The Concert in Central Park, New York, in 1981. The song was written by Paul Simon and released as a standalone single on March 21, 1969, but included on the album nine months later (at the time, songs that had been released this far ahead were rarely included on the next studio album).
