My two hot takes: This is DMX best album & “Ruff Ryders Anthem” is the weakest joint on there! Album changed my life. It showed so well that he was a person who had so much more depth than anyone could ever imagine. Changed my life. One of the reasons I started making music.

The hype around this was real. I've yet to experience a hip hop album as hyped as this from a new artist. There was an air of mystery around him.

Gloria Grahame and Gene Nelson in the 1955 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical film “Oklahoma!”. The song is called “All ‘Er Nothin’”, with Grahame and Nelson doing their own singing. The film’s soundtrack album became one of the most successful movie albums ever released. It was more successful than the 1943 original Broadway cast album of “Oklahoma!”, which was the biggest stage hit of its time. The soundtrack charted No. 1 on the Billboard Pop Album Chart in 1956 and has been in continual print. On July 8, 1958, it became the first album to be certified “Gold” by the RIAA, and was later certified “2x multi-platinum” on April 1, 1992.

Commanding the Woodstock ’99 stage with pure intensity, “Ruff Ryders’ Anthem” saw DMX deliver one of the festival’s most unforgettable performances, appearing on It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot, released May 1998. The track captures his raw energy at the height of his rise.

This is incredible! On the left it is still day, the Sun is still shining, and on the right it is already dark night with the Moon. The craft is located just below the terminator... border of light and dark.
