@NBCSports You should have been talking about USC’s Celebration of the hit and Stephen’s lack of concern for Dante’s injury and Riley’s non control of His team….That should have been included in your Half -Assed apology!!

Your respect should be reserved for the injured player on the field. I hate these next day apologies, written by PR companies and cleaned up with AI. You attempted to blame the victim, even though your eyes saw what actually happened and you did it for the notoriety this contrarian view would bring you. Just own it and hold down the fort on stupid today.

@NBCSports Yet, somehow, you had to make this about you. "As I guy that almost died on the field 20 years ago" Fuck off. You're only apologizing because you were made to. NBC Sports can do a lot better than a hack like you.

@NBCSports 1/2 way there. Owning up to mistakes is commendable. However, Any comments on USC player behavior? You are supposed to be an analyst that analyzes all parts of the game. How do you miss not saying anything about that? It doesn’t add up? Why are you protecting that program?

@NBCSports Thank you. 🙏 Would be nice to see you condemn the despicable behavior by Stephens and his coaches/leaders. Not what CFB should be about.
@AndrewMarchand @NBCSports Please learn to think before you shoot your mouth off - a repeat issue for you Chris

@NBCSports You were right in your analysis Chris. No need to apologize.

@NBCSports Do you even know what you are apologizing for?

@NBCSports No one is upset for you diving straight to football stuff. Pretty sure it’s more about the part where you blamed Moore for getting blasted by an objectively dirty hit and despicable behavior by USC after the fact

@NBCSports You totally avoided any mention of if the behavior of the USC player after the hit. Why?

@NBCSports Okay, announcers make mistakes. Next week say this live. My view: the deliberate shoulder to the head is what I see in the video. Several USC players smirking, high fiving, et al while QB is motionless, is what you should call out! Plus USC's coaches inaction. Prayers for Dante

When I heard you blaming the victim of a vicious targeting hit, I couldn’t believe it. NBC had to tell another analyst to try to fix it for you. You said nothing more at the time. As a former QB, you should have known better than anyone. Your comments should have focused first on the perpetrator, his targeting of Dante Moore’s head all the way to the ground and his several minutes of celebration after the hit while Moore was being attended to. His actions were a disgrace to USC, and your words were a disgrace to NBC and the entire football broadcasting community. Now here you are, apologizing after the fact to save your job and doing a bad job of it. You don’t even know why. I never want to see you again.

BS apology. No mention of the Desmond Stephens' despicable behavior following his violent hit on Moore. His apology sounded like a hostage tape - forced to be made by his PR rep and NBC. Very insincere. BTW, not a good analyst. No doubt got the job because of his father or his connections.

@NBCSports No way people forced him to apologize 💀

You should have been around college football enough to know the Southern Cal football, players, coaches, and fans historically are arrogant, and many of whom have no class. It wasn’t just a matter of a cheap shot, it was taunting, it was other players celebrating, and it was a head coach covering for Stephens rather than reading him the riot act. 👇🏼

@NBCSports Very well said. Even if you said something that wasn’t buttoned up, anybody that follows you knows that you didn’t mean anything negative.

@NBCSports JFC!! We now live in a world where you are FAR more likely to be forced to apologize for telling the truth than you are for telling a lie, or being totally wrong! Everything is upside-down. The incentives in public speech are all on the side of not pissing off the angry mob! 😡

I watched your halftime ‘report.’ What I’m confused about is why you were able to rationalize putting the victim who was laying on the field, convulsing, in the role of the one at total fault and actually feeling bad for the defender…like what? That’s suicidal empathy. Making the victim the guilty party and the guilty party the damn victim. At the very least, place equal blame on each player if you think they were both at fault, but to be like ‘Moore slid late’ like it was his fault the defender dropped low and literally met him on the ground and took him out with his shoulder is fvcking pathetic, and that’s being kind. Not to mention the fact that none of you said a WORD about his behavior afterwards. That kid was celebrating that he had just laid someone out on the field out cold, concussed and you said nothing except ‘I feel bad for the defender.’ Get bent dude, for real. That was some of the shittiest narrative bullshit. Get well soon.

Chris, it’s good that you apologized. Well done. However, many are probably like me. I had no problem with you talking about the football play. I got your point at the time. But I wasn’t happy to see the USC players celebrating, taunting, laughing and dapping while Moore was unconscious and convulsing. That was the issue. I gave you the benefit of the doubt and assumed you were looking at Dante and not the disgraceful stuff that was going on at the same time. I wish you would have called out the actual stuff that was so bad. You are a role model and young players look up to you. This was an opportunity to call out the terrible behavior.

@NBCSports Where is your criticism of @DesmanIi? Way to make it about you, Phil Jr.! You are a hack! It’s bewildering how anyone continues to think your opinions should be placed on television, radio or any other form of media.

@NBCSports Waiting until the middle of the NFL games to drop a Network forced apology. Just as pathetic as your comments yesterday.

Bullshit. You blamed Dante Moore for getting hit. And you just can't admit it. The non-apology apology just makes it worse. @nbc already had the worst college football studio coverage with a bunch of nobodies with no personality, but now you've made it openly hostile to the fans and the players. Jerk.

@NBCSports Your “apology” is NOT accepted, clown. You let your true feelings out and now you are being forced to “apologize” by @NBCSports. Fuck off loser.

@NBCSports Think before you talk you have no idea how many people were repulsed by your comments in real time You started by sharing how your dad told you how to get down 25 years ago? Super helpful to friends and family of a 21-year-old kid who was lying in a hospital bed.

@alexctam @NBCSports You wouldn’t be apologizing if not for the significant blowback you must have received. More people were offended by you asking for sympathy for Stephens while he was laughing it up and high fiving with his teammates while Dante was unconscious, than your comment on the call.

@NBCSports No reason to apologize for what you said. You were neither insensitive to Moore, nor were you making light of the actions after the hit. You have a great, informed take. Stick to it.

@NBCSports How do you not mention the guy celebrating taking Moore out of the game???

@NBCSports Still doesn’t call out USC and the actual play. He said a late slide a very late slide, which is demonstrably false. This was not an accident it was a hockey style take out. Stop acting like the defender was flying through the air. He was squared up on his feet.

@NBCSports This is how you apologize. Well done.

@NBCSports You still did not condemn the cheap shot

@NBCSports You need to be fired that was a insane take by you completely late and dirty

I’m a Duck. You shouldn’t be apologizing. If Dante had not got injured we would have lost the game. He’s weak. He was at fault for his own injury… he had open field to his right and blockers to his left… instead in Dante Bitch like fashion he elects to slide going full speed straight ahead. I could continue with why he should never be a starter in College ever again and never be drafted into the NFL… but I digress… Don’t apologize to less than a percent of College Football fans who ultimately make shit all about their emotional state instead of reality. You said what you said… whether they agree with it or not matters not. GO DUCKS!!!

@NBCSports F OFF DUDE…THIS IS WEAK 🤡

@NBCSports Better than the USC apology.. BUT you should talk about the bullshite #8 did after the hit … USC sucks
