@TheAnfieldWrap LW. Gakpo was more impactful when Diaz was here & he wasn't starting every game. Feels now that Gakpo guaranteed the LW spot most weeks he isnt as effective. If we signed Semenyo in the summer when Diaz left would anyone question it or just see him as the natural successor?

@TheAnfieldWrap Michael Edwards was shite before Klopp, and now subsequently after Klopp it appears, complete scattergun approach to signings. Edwards got lucky, and I don't care how many of his journalist friends write articles praising his genius.

@TheAnfieldWrap I think him paired with a more creator kinda guy like Olise on the opposite flank could work in the future🤔 Isak might grow gray hair in the meantime though, Evanilson could testify to that 😂, decision making is atrocious at times.

@TheAnfieldWrap When you say you question if there’s been a plan for the summer signings who do you mean? Do you think that circumstances have meant we haven’t been able to see the full plan?

As in we’ve signed good players, but don’t quite seem to have a plan re positions, roles and how to get the best out of them.

Understood, but do you think that issues like isaks injuries/lack of preseason have meant we’ve been unable to put “the plan” into action? Or do you genuinely think the club didn’t have a plan in the first place? Appreciate the reply

Well of course the club will have planned for something. But even with everyone fit, I don’t think it’s clear how Slot maximises every new player at the same time.

Yeah I agree it’s not looked clear at all but do think there’s mitigating circumstances and think it’s a bit soon to judge the summer window. I do think the plan would’ve been to have ekitike as a LW option with isak as 9 wirtz in 10 but like you’ve said we’re yet to see it work.

@TheAnfieldWrap Semenyo is a good player, I see why we'd be interested if we're trying to get back to a working 433, but the profile of players bought in the summer screams a future midfield diamond with the fullbacks providing the width & Wirtz behind Isak & Ekitike. Recruitment feels off🤔🤷‍♂️
