In the landscape of modern animation, Domee Shi’s Turning Red stands out for its uncompromising precision in capturing the chaotic architecture of adolescence. The emotional beats in this sequence fluctuate violently between sheer panic and a desperate, fragile state of forced Zen. Visually, the directing choices are a love letter to early2000s anime the sudden bursts of pink smoke, the hyper stylized facial distortions, and that hilarious boy band harmony that hits the second Mei locks eyes with her crush. It completely mirrors the volatile, zero to sixty emotional kaleidoscope of puberty. Symbolically, the giant red panda is the ultimate metaphor for the loud, inconvenient, and untamable parts of growing up. Honestly, the panda is just a giant, fluffy manifestation of a panic attack. Mei trying to force it down to survive the school hallway is the exact real world equivalent of being desperately hungover or enduring a massive digestive crisis at a corporate job, yet having to look your boss dead in the eye and say, "Absolutely, I’ll look over those spreadsheets right now." It's the universal agony of maintaining an unbothered facade while your internal world is actively melting down. Rosalie Chiang’s voice work is stellar here, perfectly nailing that shaky, hyperventilating tone we all use when we’re one minor inconvenience away from a total public unravelling... Pixar gave us a heroine who is completely hanging on by a thread, and it might just be the most honest thing they've ever animated.

The absolute "Main Character" delusion of ordering expensive food, refusing to pay because of the price, and then escalating it to a DUI arrest... when you already have 3 prior DUIs. You cannot make this level of entitlement up. A couple’s night out took a sharp turn for the worse after they refused to pay for an expensive round of food and drinks, despite knowing the prices from the menu beforehand. The establishment called the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department to intervene, but what began as a dispute over a hefty dining tab quickly spiraled into a criminal arrest. When officers arrived on the scene, the couple was already separated. While his partner stayed behind at the bar area, attempting to negotiate a lower total due to how expensive the bill was, Ruby Colon made his way out to the parking lot. According to police reports, the two gave completely conflicting accounts of what had transpired during their dinner and why they were refusing to settle up. Instead of presenting a cohesive story, the situation devolved into a chaotic back-and-forth with responding officers. The confrontation took a critical turn outside. Despite the bill dispute remaining completely unresolved, Ruby intended to get into his vehicle and drive away from the property. However, when officers confronted Ruby near the vehicle, they immediately noticed physical indicators of heavy intoxication. The call shifted instantly from a restaurant dispute to a full DUI investigation. Officers conducted Field Sobriety Exercises right there in the parking lot, which Ruby failed to perform satisfactorily. A standard background check revealed a heavily marred driving record. Ruby was operating the vehicle with a suspended and revoked license—a restriction resulting from three previous DUI charges. While Ruby was formally placed in handcuffs, processed for driving under the influence as a repeat offender, and transported to a local holding facility, his partner faced her own logistical hurdle. Claiming she had no remaining funds on her credit cards to order an Uber, an officer ultimately transported her home in the back of a squad car. What began as an attempt to haggle out of a high dinner bill ended with one partner in a jail cell and the other getting a police escort home.

As for Me and My House: Brandon Lake & His Sons at the Piano – A Tender Family Moment of Worship The stage lights soften as Brandon Lake settles at the piano during his King of Hearts Tour. Flanking him are his two young sons—adorable in their caps, one in a hoodie and the other in a casual tee—sharing this intimate moment with their dad. The crowd watches in awe as the family makes worship personal and powerful. With gentle keys under his fingers, Brandon leads into “As for Me and My House” (also shared as “As for Me and My Home”), the faith-filled anthem he wrote with Gabby Barrett. His voice carries both strength and vulnerability, echoing Joshua 24:15: “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” The boys sit close, absorbing the moment as their father pours out a declaration meant for their very home. The reel captures it all in under a minute: raw emotion, no elaborate production needed—“No words 😭😭 One more.” It’s a father modeling what it looks like to lead his family in faith, singing of belief in God, choosing Jesus first, and building a legacy “while on this side of the dirt.” The sons’ presence turns the performance into a living testimony—faith isn’t just sung from the stage; it’s lived at home. This heartfelt clip from the tour reminds us that worship starts in the heart of the family. Brandon, his boys, and the thousands joining in chorus create something beautiful: a picture of generational surrender to the Lord. A perfect encapsulation of the song’s message—our homes will serve Him. 🙏❤️

All the President’s Men turns 50 today. This famous “six‑minute shot” is a masterclass in phone acting and pure technical nerve. Director Alan J. Pakula and cinematographer Gordon Willis pull off a single, unbroken slow zoom: from a wide, humming newsroom to a tight close-up on Redford. No cuts. No safety net. Tension builds in real time. Redford carries it with typical quiet confidence. Six minutes of note-taking and talking into a phone, no flashy “Oscar clip.” He even flubs a name (“McGregor” for “Dahlberg”), corrects himself naturally, and Pakula keeps it because it feels authentic. The background is part of the story. As Woodward hones in on his phone call, everyone behind him huddles around a TV watching Senator Tom Eagleton resign. The contrast is deliberate: they chase the “obvious” headline, while the camera drifts past them to Woodward, and the real story. To hold Redford and the busy background in focus early on, they used a split‑diopter lens, then had to ease it out as the camera moves in. A technical tightrope. The timing of both actor and cinematographer is spot on. As Woodward closes in on the truth, the world literally falls away: the newsroom blurs, the noise fades, and we lock into his obsession. It’s one of cinema’s great moments: Redford doing almost nothing—and somehow everything at the same time. What makes this shot brilliant is the contrast it carves between Redford and the newsroom around him. The visual language does the talking: he’s locked in, disciplined, driven, all focus and fire. He stands apart because the work matters more than anything else.

In the #ThePolygamist this specific home office scene between Mpume Gomora and her father, Jonasi Gomora, highlights him at his most toxic and dismissive. As the moral conscience of the family, Mpume confronts Jonasi on behalf of her heartbroken mother, Joyce, and the children. Because Jonasi is a master of manipulation who constantly interrupts, gaslights, and dominates verbal arguments, Mpume writes a letter to strip him of his ability to twist her words. The letter outlines the emotional and psychological devastation his serial cheating, hidden families, and selfish choices have inflicted on their household. It serves as a formal indictment of his failures as a father and husband, delivered in a way that forces him to either listen or look like a complete coward. Jonasi's decision to increase the television volume is a raw display of egocentric emotional abuse and defensive avoidance. • By turning up the audio, he physically tries to drown out her voice because the truth hurts his fragile ego. • It is a power play meant to signal that her feelings, her mother's pain, and the letter are completely insignificant to him. This beautifully directed sequence relies heavily on physical blocking and spatial metaphors to expose Jonasi's narcissism: • The Desk and Office Chair (The Throne of Power): Initially, Jonasi sits behind his grand office desk. This represents his corporate empire, his patriarchal authority, and the structural power he wields over his family. Mpume stands before him like a subject pleading with a ruthless king. • Moving to the Couch (Relinquishing Accountability): When Jonasi moves away from the desk to the office couch, he is physically fleeing the confrontation. By choosing to sit and not look at her, he attempts to strip the moment of its formality, treating her heavy words like white noise. • Mpume Standing Behind Him: As Jonasi moves, Mpume remains steadfast, continuing to read the letter while standing behind his new position. • "Leave the Letter I'll read it myself": Telling her to leave the physical letter on the couch, without ever looking her in the eye, is the ultimate act of compartmentalization. To Jonasi, people and their pain are just messy inconveniences. By treating the letter like a discarded piece of trash to be left on furniture, he attempts to localise and discard the family's trauma so he can return to his pristine, curated life. Ultimately, the scene beautifully juxtaposes Mpume's raw vulnerability against Jonasi's chilling emotional detachment, proving that while he has built an empire of wealth, he is entirely bankrupt as a human being. #NetflixPolygamist

‘HE IS KING’ 🎥💻 WORLD PREMIERE!! 🔥🔥🔥 #AIfilm taking a huge leap forward.. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and my work, including my family and close friends, it has meant the world to me, especially as I transitioned into this new space and my work took a new direction abruptly haha. AI has significantly changed my life for the better. As a visual artist & filmmaker who lives on the fringe of creative expression and work spans a range of mediums and style, this is the first time in my life, where what I am doing has given me more than inspired drive, it’s given me purpose. When I set out to make this film I wanted to tell a different kind of story, while also showing everyone what I envision for my work and the voice I wanna have as a filmmaker and artist. Time is so short in life, and often times we aren’t lucky enough to find what I’ve found. So for me, that’s what drives me, along with the need to tell stories visually of course haha. But, that sense of purpose, I want to inspire people to want to be more. Not for success, but for self fulfillment. HE IS KING, is a powerful, AI-generated short film that reframes one of the most iconic moments in American history. Written and directed by myself, the film offers an emotionally intimate and visually groundbreaking exploration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the day of his legendary “I Have a Dream” speech. “HE IS KING" is witnessed as a cinematic moment, a glimpse, of a man, a message, and a movement. Told through an emotionally intimate story and unique perspective, the film follows Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the day of his most iconic address, the “I Have a Dream” speech delivered from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. But it does more than document a moment we all know well, it pulls the audience into the soul of a leader preparing to speak truth to a nation on the edge of transformation, these moments are the moments histories most undeniable choices and creation around them, are rarely told or shown. From quiet moments writing in a candlelit church, to the silent prayer of a man alone with his thoughts, to the thunderous crescendo of a quarter-million people answering his call, "HE IS KING" honors the legacy of a man not as a monument, but as a human being carrying the weight of a dream. Segregation, resistance, and unity are woven through the speech like visual echoes, grounding King’s words in lived experiences. With meticulous period detail through research, grounded performances, and a reverent tone manifested through my vision and AI, the film captures the urgency, hope, and sacrifice of the civil rights movement through a modern lens of technology today giving a uniquely spectacular showcase of what is possible in today's world. The film is a testament to the enduring power of truth as well, spoken aloud and carried forward. It captures the soul of a movement while reminding us that the dream never died with him, it evolved, rising through the voices of new leaders, and now, through innovations like AI, it has the ability to reach beyond time, across borders, and into the hands of future generations. This is not just a story about a speech. It’s about the responsibility, and the promise, of being the ones who still dream. ❤️🎥 DH Created with: Google DeepMind VEO, Runway GEN 3/4 for some of the speech shots using GVFX custom promoted filters, Kling AI 1.6 LipSync, custom voice workflow to create a new unique voice closely resembling King, Magnific.ai with their masterful upscaling in the vintage shots I created, Adobe Video Premiere/AfterEffects for editing/Color Grading, and the finish from Topaz Labs to bring it to you in 4k brilliance!

#Seungmin on As We Are 🥺🤍 🐶 the song As We Are is a song about the journey that led me to be standing on this dominATE stage now, which being put in one single song. Everyone goes through difficult times, everyone has their own breakthrough phase, same goes to me, as well as you who are listening to this song, we are not all that different, like no matter what happens, slowly, lets get through it together and that's the hopeful content along with the comfort which I tried to put into the song. Usually, when the image of cliff crosses our mind, we would think about the pre-falling moment or maybe something very precarious , so for the first verse lyrics, i mentioned about wanting to potray the struggles to get through things , just right before falling and it connected well with cliff. I think it was a part where the stage set expressed the vulnerability of me very well. I am so so thankful of the video PD as they managed to perfectly express the vibes of the song , the meaning of what i wanted to say through the lyrics & the overall story structure with the background visuals (back source) , hence i was able to pour all my despair into singing at first then later when the clouds and the panorama unfolded, it gave me even more strength to sing. 🐶i have shown the sides of me playing guitar from time to time since in the past, though my skill was a bit clumsy , but for this tour, i made up my mind that i would definitely play a guitar while singing so i traveled far away to seek a guitar myself , and i really went through a lot of trial and error as well as the preparation along the way, Its really beyond my expectation how there were so many people that helped me out and through their help, it seems like the stage became a meaningful & deep one It feels like i gained another ability.

.Charles Murray reveals he recycled a couple chapters of his controversial book “The Bell Curve” and put them into “Coming Apart”—without any reviewer noticing: “None of the reviewers caught it, because so few people actually read The Bell Curve—as opposed to hearing the stories told about it—that they weren't aware of the argument.” “Over the course of the 20th century, IQ took on a different role in America's social structure. It became much more important in determining affluence, much more important in determining who's successful than it had been previously. …We also had things such as the university system start to go out and vacuum up the kids with the most intellectual potential and send them off to a set of elite colleges, where they formed a critical mass that tended to produce a culture of its own that had not existed before. …That was the basic argument, and if I can say so, it's been borne out, I think, by what we've looked at the last 15 years. You have a cognitive elite that kind of lives in a world of its own, culturally and to a large degree politically. …Northwest Washington DC is just very dense with graduates of Harvard, Princeton, Yale, the other Ivy's, Duke, Stanford. It's incredible how densely they're packed. And if you look at San Francisco, Manhattan, parts of LA, you see the same thing. You have people from these elite schools in an elite culture with differences in everything, from their child-raising practices to the media they watch to the books they read, the television they watch—everything is a completely different culture. That all happened in a relatively short period of time and created an enormous sense of isolation.” American Enterprise Institute

‼️‼️🇺🇦🇷🇺 BIG | The facade of Russia’s energy abundance has officially shattered on the home front—with the Kremlin deploying armed police and National Guard units to control civil unrest at gas stations as a crippling nationwide fuel crisis takes hold. In Chelyabinsk, the regional administration has mobilized security forces to patrol local filling stations following a violent shooting where a driver opened fire over a spot in a massive gas line. The region is one of 13 territories across Russia forced to enforce strict fuel sales limits and put pumps under round-the-clock armed guard to prevent hoarding and maintain basic order. To keep the country from sliding into total gridlock, authorities have instituted a strict priority rationing system for emergency vehicles—such as fire trucks and ambulances—while desperately diverting remaining supplies to protect the elite hubs of Moscow and St. Petersburg from visual disruption. This unprecedented mobilization exposes the devastating efficacy of Ukraine’s deep-strike campaign against Russia’s domestic energy infrastructure. With nearly half of the country's oil refining capacity currently sitting idle or completely knocked offline, Russia is suffering a catastrophic collapse in seasonal fuel production. By forcing local authorities to ration gas and treat fuel pumps like heavily fortified military outposts, Ukraine has successfully pierced the Kremlin’s propaganda—bringing the severe, logistical friction of the war directly into the daily lives of ordinary Russian citizens. Asking For A Friend is out now!!! Since our return to the stage in San Luis Obispo five weeks ago, we have been reminded of why we love and are forever devoted to doing this Foo Fighters thing. From reuniting as a band and staring at a list of 30 years worth of songs to brush off, to reimagining versions with the incredible blessing of the one and only Ilan Rubin behind the drums, to reconnecting with our amazing fans and blasting them with everything we’ve got (no matter the size of the venue) because we would not be here without them, we have the most solid core. And the sun is finally rising over the horizon. What better way to share the view than with close friends? In 1992 I first saw the legendary Kyuss perform at the Off Ramp in Seattle and met Mr. Josh Homme. The band were friends of a friend, and before long their album Blues for the Red Sun became the soundtrack to that summer. 33 years later and with many miles behind us, I have shared some of my life’s most rewarding musical moments with my dear friend, Josh. A lifelong bond that goes far beyond the sound we’ve made together. So it is with great happiness that we can share this next chapter together with his almighty Queens of the Stone Age. Take cover. But none of this would be complete without new music to share from Pat, Nate, Chris, Rami, Ilan and I. ‘Asking for a Friend’ is a song for those who have waited patiently in the cold, relying on hope and faith for their horizon to appear. Searching for ‘proof’ when hanging by a wish until the sun shines again. One of many songs to come… Dave
