I’m not Mancunian but have very good knowledge of Manchester, including the Christmas Markets. You however have obviously missed the fact that GMP put a Dispersal Order on that area yesterday (for 48 hours) due to excessive anti-social behaviour, disorder, and criminality. Police were stopping youngsters entering the Arndale Centre because large groups were congregating in there, and it was affecting trade. That was why that young man was being stopped and redirected to use a toilet elsewhere. All he had to do, was do as he was requested. It’s really not that difficult is it?

Honestly? I think this was heavy handed. He was being belligerent and annoying and easily could have walked away. If he follows that’s different but nothing I’ve seen suggests this was okay.

The driver requested their assistance for a physical altercation that was occurring on the bus. As the officers approached the bus, the front door opened and 22-year-old Devin Spraggins exited. With their attention directed to Spraggins by civilian witnesses and the bus driver, the officers attempted to speak with him to investigate the incident on the bus. Spraggins, however, shoved Police Officer Boller and fled. The officers pursued Spraggins on foot. Police Officer Boller caught up with him and a physical struggle ensued. During the struggle with Police Officer Boller, Spraggins produced a firearm and discharged it, striking the officer in the right groin. Shasta Police Department and Weed Police Department released body cam footage showing the incident that happened on March 21, 2026, during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near the north Weed off-ramp. An officer pulled over a car traveling northbound at the north Weed off-ramp for multiple violations, including excessive window tint and an unsafe lane change. The officer called for help with a K-9 drug sniff, and a Mt. Shasta police officer responded to assist. The incident happened at the corner of Robert Mugabe Road and Julius Nyerere Way. The kombi was carrying passengers without the required documentation. The kombi driver contacted the owner, who is a ZRP officer, and told him that City Council officers were about to impound the vehicle. According to Fairfield police, a school resource officer responded to a "physical altercation involving multiple students on campus" just after 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Police say a high school student was fighting a school official who was trying to break up the fight. According to Fairfield police, the officer then saw another student trying to retrieve an item from a backpack during the fight - which the officer believed was a weapon. The officer then confiscated two backpacks. Police say the officer then escorted one of the students involved in the fight to a campus office. They say a large group followed the pair, including other students "who were actively trying to fight the student the officer had detained." After the student had been taken to the office, police say the officer tried to approach a second student who was trying to fight. The student refused to listen, according to police, and went back to a large group, where more students were fighting. The officer then tried to detain the second student, police said, but they tried to pull away. At this point, other police officers had arrived at the school to help with the response. Police say the student then hit the officer, which prompted the officer to perform what they called a "takedown technique" and place the student on the ground. As the officer tried to place the student in handcuffs, the student resisted, police said. In the press release shared Thursday, police detailed what happened before the officer placed the student in handcuffs. "The second student placed his hands over his head and covered his face. An officer grabbed his wrist and tried to place his hand behind his back. The second student tensed his arms, and the officer was unable to overcome his resistance," Fairfield police said. "The officer administered a distraction strike to the second student's hands. The officer tried again to pull his arm behind his back but was still not able to overcome his resistance." After additional "distraction strikes," police arrested the student. The first student was later arrested. Police said they found sharp objects, including a screwdriver, in the two backpacks they confiscated. "At the end of lunch today at Fairfield High, there was a fight amongst multiple students.A Fairfield Police officer was working at the school, and called for additional officers to respond. At least 100 people have staged a protest outside Rochdale police station overnight, after a video was shared online appearing to show a police officer kicking a man in the head.
