Why do we pay drivers on trains that don’t need them? Another example of Spanish working practices!

You need a human onboard because the technology is fallible. Every time the train loses coherence with the signals, going in and out of depots and if there are obstacles on the tracks then the onboard member of staff must manually drive the train.
