Today, once again, the European Parliament adopted a resolution calling on EU member states to designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization under the EU’s terrorism sanctions regime. While this decision is welcome, it does not change the reality on the ground. For more than three years, repeated attempts to move forward have been blocked by a number of EU member states, including France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Malta and Cyprus. Despite this, we must continue working toward a unified European position. I am often asked why this designation matters. My answer is simple: a terrorist listing, combined with parallel measures, weakens the regime and creates internal pressure within its security apparatus. Iran warns. 🇮🇱 🇱🇧 🇮🇷 Despite the signing of the US-Iran memorandum on 18 June, Israel continues to heavily bomb towns in southern Lebanon & Beqaa Valley, resulting in dozens of deaths and injuries over the last two days. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, since 2 March there have been some 4,057 confirmed deaths and 12,121 people injured as a result of the Israeli aggression. In response to Israel’s ongoing violation of the ceasefire, Iran has once again closed the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to take further measures should Israel continue with such violations. The ‘Minab 168’ delegation has departed for Zurich, Switzerland, to monitor the implementation of the memorandum’s agreements, including the cessation of hostilities on all fronts. In the case of Lebanon, further violations will take compliance with the agreement into a new phase, in which a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory will be demanded.

In 2024, we inherited a system on the brink of collapse. What have we done? We’ve begun a prison building programme that is the largest since the Victorian era. By the next election, more criminals will be behind bars than ever before. But we cannot simply build our way out of the crisis. We have to make changes to the sentencing regime too. Our Prime Minister looked again, and has ensured that rapists and certain child sex offenders are not subject to the changes - alongside 18,000 of the most serious offenders. He would have liked to have gone further but he also has a responsibility to ensure we have sufficient prison places for a functioning law and order system. Doctors are leaving the NHS because they are undervalued. In 2024, more doctors applied to leave the UK than in the previous decade combined - the result of a system that is fundamentally broken. We now have the diabolical situation where 40,000 doctors are competing for just 10,000 training jobs. Without these posts, doctors cannot train to become consultants or GPs. The NHS is actively blocking its own future workforce. At the same time, our pay has been eroded. Even after the most recent deal delivered during a period of double digit inflation, doctors are still around 20% worse off in real terms than in 2008 despite working just as hard, in a system where patients are sicker and more complex than ever before. Many resident doctors carry over £100,000 of student debt and start work as a fully qualified doctor on £18.62 an hour. We are asking for £22.67 an hour for foundation year one doctors for example, phased over time, not even all at once. Despite this, Wes Streeting has recommended another real terms pay cut this April. In EWC qualifying, the YART Yamaha team do not refuel the bike during a pit stop. Instead, when a rider comes in, the team removes the fuel tank and replaces it with a separate tank prepared for the next rider. Inside each tank are special volume balls, used to fine-tune the available fuel capacity. The team then measures the fuel to within one tenth of a gram and checks the temperature, because warmer fuel is less dense. That means the same volume contains slightly less fuel mass, so the team has to account for temperature when preparing the tank. The aim is to carry enough fuel for the session, but no more than necessary. Less fuel means less weight, and less weight means more performance when every tenth matters. Since the night hours, our rescuers, firefighters, medics, and all the necessary emergency services have been working at the sites of Russian missile and drone strikes. By the time they finally pull him to his feet, you can clearly see his face is injured. Law enforcement are allowed to use force, that’s objectively reasonable, under the circumstances. But, once someone is effectively under control, any additional force has to be justified by a legitimate safety need… not punishment, anger, or retaliation. If someone is no longer actively resisting, repeatedly driving their head into concrete… is difficult to justify as necessary force. 🚨BREAKING: In Oklahoma City, ICE agents are seen chasing a young man through a parking lot, tasing him, then repeatedly smashing his head, and dragging his face across the concrete… while he isn’t resisting. In the video, after he falls to the ground, agents pile on top of him, as the agents smash his head into the concrete multiple times. While he’s lying on the ground… not fighting back, and making no visible attempt to get away… the agents drag his face across the pavement as they go to handcuff him. Then, with both agents already on top of him, and his arms being pulled behind his back, one agent slams his head into the concrete, again. Even after both agents have him pinned, and are kneeling on him, one agent continues forcing his head into the pavement. By the time they finally pull him to his feet, you can clearly see his face is injured. Law enforcement are allowed to use force, that’s objectively reasonable, under the circumstances. But, once someone is effectively under control, any additional force has to be justified by a legitimate safety need… not punishment, anger, or retaliation. If someone is no longer actively resisting, repeatedly driving their head into concrete… is difficult to justify as necessary force. This is exactly what happens when the government refuses to hold ICE agents accountable. The more ICE agents get away with excessive force, the more excessive force becomes their normal.
