It seems kids have heightened taste buds when younger as my kids could not handle even salt on their food- “too hot!” Even as they got older. The “hot” description made me more emphatic to the fact that it may not just be them being resistant to new things, some tastes might actually be as jarring or repulsive as someone dousing my food in pepper sauce or sole pungent cheese and I try not to force the issue.
