maybe cats simply don't perceive spiders as scary like humans do

Spider poses no risk to the cat so the cat is not interested. Spider is actually helpful in controlling unwanted insects in the home. Huntsman spider

Cat is just trying to get 5 minutes more of sleep... before the whole house is burned to the ground, as is now necessary. 🤷‍♂️
