What actually changed my life was learning to do things I hated every single day. Some people read the early chapters of Troubled and say, “I can’t recognize this person. How does the teenage kid I’m reading about become the person I’m speaking to now?” The answer is simple: if you spend eight years in the military, you’re going to change. And it took all eight of those years for me to reshape my personality, my outlook, and my priorities to the point where I could function as a self-sufficient adult. I initially enlisted for four years. One of the most important lessons I learned during that time was that motivation is overrated. It took me a long time to understand this, but motivation is just a feeling. Do I want to do this? Do I not want to do this? Do I feel inspired today? Self-discipline matters more than motivation. Self-discipline means doing what needs to be done regardless of how you feel. It means sticking to healthy routines and making good decisions even when you don’t feel motivated. If you can string together enough productive days over a long enough period of time, your life will begin to improve. What’s happening internally, in terms of motivation or lack of motivation, matters less than people think. The real question is: can you do it anyway? At first, that discipline was imposed from the outside. In basic training, the instructors enforce structure and routine. But over time, that external discipline gradually becomes internal self-discipline. Even after my first four years in the Air Force, from ages seventeen to twenty-one, I knew I still wasn’t ready to leave that rigid structure behind. I understood that I needed more time inside an environment that demanded responsibility and consistency from me. So I reenlisted for another four years. By the time I was twenty-four or twenty-five, I was finally prepared.

1 song… 1 BTC When it happened earlier I didn’t quite realize right away what that really meant Despite knowing every inch of relentless work I put in for 3 years to get to this moment, it still didn’t feel real until… I sat down at my childhood piano and, fighting the tears, I played the song. My song. My diary. My story. But for the first time, it didn’t feel like I was singing the song. It felt like someone was singing it TO me. I think they’re absolutely an essential service that needs to be properly funded, especially in rural areas and smaller towns. “I don’t know if I can actually keep these branches open or not, but I wanted to help as much as I could, and I knew that the amount of money that they needed was an amount of money that I could provide. “I just feel like I had to do it. I don't know what the point is of being a successful author in Nova Scotia if you're not going to use it for good. "I want to continue to live in Nova Scotia, but I do feel that lately there’s been a lot of government decisions that have made it less appealing to live in Nova Scotia. And this is one of them. “I want to do what I can to help, but I also think private donations can't replace government policy, which is where this funding should be coming from. "Really, my goal was to try and do what I could to keep these branches open for now, and then maybe raise enough awareness to make sure that this problem doesn’t happen again when these kinds of decisions are made by the government next year. My Portfolio is live! At least the first Version. For now only in German. English will be added later. Didn't finished everything I wanted, but this will be a work in progress. Not everything is accessible. Didn't added all Figma Layouts yet. But it's enough to launch it now, so I can happily go to vacation 🙂 ⚙️ Tech Stack: Webflow (Webflow) GSAP (GSAP) (Core, CustomEase) Locomotive Scroll v5 (Locomotive®) Osmo (Osmo) (Mouse Follower) Custom CSS & JS The coolest part is that I documented everything inside my social media profiles. X: 150 Posts LinkedIn: 90 Posts Instagram: 23 Posts All Posts from just one Project. This Project was also a big learning playground for me. I don't really did much animation stuff before, didn't really used GSAP or Locomotive Scroll. Added so many modules where I actually didn't know how to build it first. And this shows how much you can learn by just building stuff. Especially stuff where you don't know at first how to build it. Fun fact: I call it always Portfolio, but there are no projects. I built a Three.js rendering study inspired by Tiny Glade’s painterly aesthetic, and got it running at 120fps in the browser. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been studying how stylized games achieve that soft, handcrafted look in real time. Tiny Glade was a huge inspiration, and I wanted to use the browser as a constraint: no compute shaders, no native GPU access, and single-threaded JavaScript. As part of this study, I implemented: - GPU-driven instanced brick walls with procedural noise jitter and elastic build animations - Tree, bush, and flower rendering with billboard card expansion, wind sway, and grow animations - Procedural grass with terrain conformance and interactive push deformation - Animated water with layered noise, interactive ripples, and Fresnel-based reflections - Procedural terrain with slope-aware triplanar materials, dirt paths, and rocks - A 7-pass post-processing stack with TAA, bloom, depth of field, painterly filtering, ACES tonemapping, 3D LUT color grading, and film grain The hardest part wasn’t writing any single shader. It was making all of these systems work together at high frame rates inside WebGL, where every millisecond counts and performance problems compound quickly across animation, materials, post-processing, and scene management. Some techniques in this study were inspired by analyzing Tiny Glade’s rendering approach, while others were original implementations built from scratch from visual reference. That contrast taught me a lot: recreating an effect is one challenge, but designing your own shaders and systems to achieve a similar feel is a very different one. This is a private educational rendering study. Some temporary placeholder content is being used during the research phase, and any public or production version would use original or properly licensed assets. Is this a financial hallucination? Elon Musk was not even in the world’s top ten richest people until 2020. Now he is the world’s first trillionaire. It is absurd, but not fake. This was not some slow, stately climb through the billionaire league table. Musk crashed into the top ten during Covid, rode the Tesla mania, fell back when markets turned, then launched into another universe as SpaceX was marked at a much higher valuation. As others have pointed out to me, this wasn't luck. This was 24 years of SpaceX history being priced in by public markets, helped a bit by the addition of an AI business. That is the story in this animation. These are shares, private valuations, collateral, market mood and a huge wager on the future, all compressed into one ridiculous number: $1.3 trillion as of today. Once the financial system agrees to treat paper wealth as real, it becomes real enough. It can be borrowed against. It can be pledged. It can buy control, influence and time. It can decide which companies get funded, which technologies get built and which version of the future attracts capital. That is the mad part. Musk’s fortune is both real and ridiculous at the same time. Real, because markets, banks and investors have endorsed it. Ridiculous, because a large part of it can move violently when sentiment changes, a rocket explodes, Tesla rerates, or investors decide the future is worth a different price. This feels like a chart about modern wealth becoming stranger, faster and more detached from anything most people would recognise as money. What do you think? Is this a financial hallucination? Elon Musk was not even in the world’s top ten richest people until 2020. Now he is the world’s first trillionaire. It is absurd, but not fake. This was not some slow, stately climb through the billionaire league table. Musk crashed into the top ten during Covid, rode the Tesla mania, fell back when markets turned, then launched into another universe as SpaceX was marked at a much higher valuation. As others have pointed out to me, this wasn't luck. This was 24 years of SpaceX history being priced in by public markets, helped a bit by the addition of an AI business. That is the story in this animation. These are shares, private valuations, collateral, market mood and a huge wager on the future, all compressed into one ridiculous number: $1.3 trillion as of today. Once the financial system agrees to treat paper wealth as real, it becomes real enough. It can be borrowed against. It can be pledged. It can buy control, influence and time. It can decide which companies get funded, which technologies get built and which version of the future attracts capital. That is the mad part. Musk’s fortune is both real and ridiculous at the same time. Real, because markets, banks and investors have endorsed it. Ridiculous, because a large part of it can move violently when sentiment changes, a rocket explodes, Tesla rerates, or investors decide the future is worth a different price. This feels like a chart about modern wealth becoming stranger, faster and more detached from anything most people would recognise as money. What do you think? July 4th, 2030. In just four years, almost every part of America will be reachable by an autonomous car. People don't believe me when I say that, but it's already happened for me. In fact, I've probably driven through your community by my robot. Which gets me to a new point. I've been all over this country with my robot, and there are some places that are stunningly beautiful: Wyoming, Montana, Alaska, California, and Utah. Even the East Coast has stunning natural beauty in places like Maine and New Hampshire. It's different than Yosemite National Park, of course, but they have their own national park up there that is really nice. Someday you're going to pay a cheap price for a thrill ride ticket. Yesterday, I did basically San Jose to San Diego in one drive along the coast. This is a way better drive than going to Disneyland and riding the Matterhorn. Disneyland costs something like $150 or more per person; for a family of three or four people, that gets expensive. It’s cheaper to take an autonomous car and buy a box of strawberries. Also coming in 2030, you're probably going to be wearing a pair of glasses. I know you hate the idea; I have to wear glasses and I hate the idea too. But I've seen the prototypes in the labs and they are so stunning that someday a company is going to bring a product to market that makes us all go, "Oh." I still believe that company is Apple. There’s a reason for that: they own exclusive rights to Formula One. A lot of people watch Formula One (I watch it myself, though I'm not rich enough to go many times). Someday you're going to have a 3D track on your kitchen counter and you'll be watching the race in a whole new, mind-blowing way. You're going to show it to all your guests at your Fourth of July party and they’re all going to want one. By 2030, the question isn't whether I have a robot in my house. I already have a couple of robots, like the Matic robot that cleans our floors, and I’ll probably have another one by the end of this year. I'm talking about a humanoid. The real question is: how many humanoids will be in my house at my Fourth of July party in 2030? I could see saving up a little bit to rent a whole bunch of them. Why not? It’s America. Someday soon, you're going to have robots lighting off the fireworks in certain communities. When I lived in Seattle, we had mortars on our front driveway. It's a little dangerous for a human to get close to, so you send the robot. That’s what I learned in Las Vegas when I met the bomb disposal unit; they let me drive a robot around and blow up a bomb. As an American, that highly entertained me because blowing up bombs is just the best. That’s why we all like fireworks, except for my autistic son who can’t stand them. He has shown me a different way, so we go to drone shows now. Regardless, soon you’re going to have humanoid robots lighting the fireworks. If you're any kind of creator, listen to me. You do not need AI to create 2D or 3D animation or art. Honestly, you dont even need to know HOW to animate yourself. Sometimes, all you need is an idea, a vision, patience, and the right artist who can bring that vision to life. And if you cant afford an artist yet, thats okay too. You can always learn, practice, fail, and improve yourself so that way you can spearhead your own projects. Another option is also just saving your money so you can "indie" fund your project. I’ve done both. Ive hired animators, and Ive also learned how to do it myself because, honestly, I got tired of waiting on people. I got tired of being disappointed by speed, quality, communication, or work ethic. Personally for me, at some point, it became a "Fine ill do it myself" type of situation and literally "picked up the pencil" myself. And I did. It took years. A lot of frustration, a lot of late nights, a lot of self doubt, but every step forward came from actually showing up for myself and my work. No shortcuts. Not pretending im an animator. actually being one. Not letting a machine, make my journey FOR me. What drives me is passion, discipline, and doing the work over and over again because I love animation. The best part is looking back and seeing that my work improved because of ME. Because I kept going. because I gave enough of a shit to get better, thats real human growth, no AI needed. You can do it too. Start from nothing. become something.

The goal was simple but hard: stop relying on random footage stitched together with a voiceover, and instead build something continuous. Scene by scene. Moment by moment. Reaction by reaction. A love story told through glances, small talk, and the kind of silences that say more than dialogue. Far from perfect, but further than I expected. + + + The characters are entirely AI-generated using Nano Banana. But the souls behind them are real. Risa (Icha) was inspired by a remarkable woman I admire. A middle-aged lady who could not have children of her own adopted an orphan girl at the age of eight. That girl is Icha. When her adoptive mother later took in two more orphans, Icha, now 24, naturally became both an older sister and a mother figure to them. Through her I wanted to explore something I find genuinely beautiful about Southeast Asian women: that nurturing instinct, so quiet and so deep, it doesn't need to be taught. It simply is. Riandi (Rian) is a reflection of my younger self. Long before I married my wife, we lived in different cities. Every weekend I would take a two hour travel bus just to see her. No WhatsApp back then, no easy communication. Just a longing strong enough to move. We never went anywhere fancy. Cheap warung food, roadside stalls, just sitting together. It was never about the place. It was about needing to see her. That kind of love makes you do things that make no logical sense, and you do them gladly. We eventually got married. A tree that, through rain, wind, and sunlight, diligently polished the stars. A golden tree dusted with stardust in autumn. He is decent. He is humble (“your humble host” is not just a catchphrase; it’s something he actually practices). He does three or four 4-hour shows a week, writes his own opening statements by hand, and does his level best to answer every comment that comes in during the live broadcasts. You can feel the gratitude in him - gratitude for the position he has been given, and for the people who helped put him there - and I don’t believe there is a version of this man that would ever betray either.
