NOW: Hundreds of state workers are rallying at the State Capitol against Gov. Gavin Newsom's new return-to-office mandate that takes effect today requiring most state employees to work in person four days per week instead of the previous minimum of two (for most state workers). They argue telework has proven effective and productive, adding the return-to-office mandate will increase traffic and add costs for everyday workers and taxpayers. On the other side, Newsom argues the return to office mandate will improve productivity and improve downtowns. SEIU Local 1000 says the demonstration also comes as its contract with the state has expired. No agreement has been reached for a new contract.

A night of both jubilant and sombre. A thumping win for BN-PN with 25 seats as I predicted earlier when friends asked me about my thoughts on Negeri Sembilan state election. The blue wave swept across Negeri Sembilan back to BN, after losing the state in 2018 and 2023 election. To note, while BN wins 18 seats alone, it is not enough to form a government. A pact with PN with 7 seats secured two-thirds majority in Negeri Sembilan state legislature.

What were the police doing when Youth Congress leaders were burning an effigy of the Hon’ble Prime Minister and painting the BJP office gate black? Is the intelligence system in Telangana even functioning? When the BJP State Office is being attacked in broad daylight, are the police simply watching? Are they working at the behest of the Congress? Don’t the police have a responsibility to protect the state office of a national political party located in the heart of Hyderabad? The police must answer for this failure. Congress leaders should not mistake our patience for weakness. If we decide to respond, Youth Congress leaders won’t be able to move around freely. Those responsible must be arrested and brought before the law by this evening. Otherwise, our response will go beyond what the Youth Congress has done today.
