That’s the main reason we are not healing in all forms of relationships because of these unresolved and unaddressed issues 💔

Yeah, they will act like you're the problem, you're too emotional or too weak and they will never admit that what they did can possibly make you hurt.

This is so true. I was with someone who could not meet me on my level emotionally and would need to see me completely broken just so they could do the bare minimum to make me feel like it was all I needed. NEVER AGAIN.

It took me so long to realize this! I remember the moment I woke up - we had a party at our house and I walked up behind him as he was making a cruel joke about me to friends. The look on their faces made him turn and I saw the truth in his face. That was the end.

I was @ a rough point once & b4 my dad died he said come live w/ me & mom & rebuild. Mom agreed. Then Dad died & b4 buried mom said I couldn’t live where my father said. When I neutrally inquired why, she flipped the script & played the victim calling me abusive 4 asking. Tragic.

Been here lost my heart thru these actions. Now I’m cold and I don’t care enough for the game to work. I finally see what’s real and it was never my connection with him

I agree with this under certain circumstances. There IS a hierarchy of respect. For instance, a child must never assume they can hold their parents accountable. When an adult child is being gaslit, they have to still treat their parent with respect. Unfortunately we live in a world that gets offended over everything and misunderstands the meaning and motive of what others may say. In order for this advice to work, you must first assume the person had no ill intent. Explain to them kindly how you took what they said and ask them HOW they meant what they said. If at THAT POINT they start getting angry or mocking you, that's the point where you have to, again kindly, respond in a way that doesn't allow them to be abusive.

Describes my abusive mother and brother to a tee. If you are in this situation then get out, get out fast and don’t look back. I wasted many years by not having the courage to break all ties but once I did 🙌🙌🙌🙌
