One is the best ever right here. After Mora was asked about a potentially meaningless game.

The ending is the best part! Mora is like fine, I’d be happy to answer that

This is still my all-time favorite... and after a win no less. The way he mutters "f*ckers" as he walks off is so great.

It’s the gold standard 7 FGs!

I was warned that Coach Mora was difficult. But we were both celebrity huggers for the Special Olympics & he was delightful. I enjoyed his passionate responses. His “horsesh*t” press conference is a classic.

Jim got me in Indy. Asked him about having a walkthrough practice once. His response: “We do not walk through practices. We run. We hustle. We compete. We do not conduct “walkthrough practices.”

I can hear him saying that

I love the face-to-face interaction here. They get it out of their system and try again. It must've been incredible covering the league when this kind of thing actually happened.

Could show up the next day and it was water under bridge

Absolutely. This is something we've lost to social media. Twitter clout makes everyone act like they're 12 so players and coaches become extremely guarded not knowing who's fishing for likes & retweets posting their vulnerable moments.

Mora was indeed the 🐐 of these blowups. I have been trying to find his, “You THINK you know, but you don’t….and you never will!” rant to a room of reporters. Absolute Gold. Please post it if you find it :)

Man I loved Mora.

God Bless Jim Mora. A National Treasure.

@ColemanESPN What would do for that jacket

ron got lucky that day. remember mora got robbed, pistol whipped but ended up kicking that punk's ass.

There’s truth to what Jim Mora said. No game is ever useless. Even if you’re out of playoff contention it still means something to the coaches and players. The film doesn’t lie. You’re not getting paid just to play. You’re getting paid to win!!⚜️⚜️

I was there for this. Back in the early 90s at the old @Saints facility. This is just the beginning. It went on for a long time. That’s Ron Swoboda who asked the question. Part of the 1969 miracle Mets. Made “the catch” in the World Series. Jim Mora was fun to cover. A winner

mora was the god damn GOAT

luv that cap too

who was the guy asking questions? Sounds like a possible former player in media, TV or Radio or something

Ron Swoboda, the former baseball player

Wow. Great info. Maybe he did treat games differently; the 69 series was out-of-his-head, good.

I'm sure he'd had hard coaching along the way and didn't seem to fazed by Mora

he didn't back down, took the convo to a couple of minutes

91 years young!

The great buddy d.

You know it was something when Buddy D was speechless!

Jim stood on business every single time 😂😂

The reporter was Ron Swoboda when he was working for @FOX8NOLA when it was an ABC station. Swoboda was the only former athlete that anchored sports here. He was a member of the Miracle Mets & caught the final out of the WS that season. Coach Mora is still on TV here from time to time on WDSU. AND WE STILL LOVE HIM!

@SaintRPh I’m digging that Saints jacket

Ron Swoboda.

This is great. Thanks for sharing, Mike!

Unrelated but coaching attire during this time was outstanding.

Damn Jim Mora was calling out main stream media before it was cool lol. All time great right there.

Wonderful back and forth. Too bad you don’t see this anymore.

Foundational Saints personality

@KeithRuscitti Vintage
