'One of England's greatest performances!' Wayne Rooney LOVED that!

As a Mexican-American Newcastle United fan, I was happy to see Dan Burn play. Its a sad day for me, but England looks like a real title contender.

Wayne Rooney knows exactly what it takes to survive these high-stakes knockout games, and he is spot on. To go into the absolute cauldron of the Azteca Stadium against a co-host, lose a man to a straight red card, and still hold your nerve to win 3-2 is legendary. It is exactly the kind of gritty, elite mentality that past generations searched for, and seeing Thomas Tuchel’s side pull it off clearly has a Three Lions legend thrilled.

@BBCMOTD Wayne Rooney has the mental acuity and vocabulary of a particularly simple chimpanzee. Hasn’t strung a coherent sentence together yet.

JUDE BELLINGHAM IS MAN OF THE MATCH 🏆

@JamesMelville

@BBCMOTD We have no RB for the QF but I guess we'll worry about that later. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

The second half felt the longest EVER. Holding my breath. It could've gone to longer time. Marvelous game by both sides.

@jordie_bfc

If England keeps this up, Norway will start sending us postcards asking for a rematch.

England should’ve had 3 players sent off. FIFA corruption.

That’s not casual praise either—that’s coming from someone who has lived through World Cups, pressure moments, and the full weight of playing for England on the biggest stage 🦁

Football is coming home.

Another England masterclass according to Rooney. Fantastic, just what we need – more hype and tired players for the season.

A match we were expected to Win FFS

Yeah they've try today

When will the English media start giving credit to Thomas Tuchel?

King Kane. 👑⚽

The commentary on here SUCKS that was NEVER a red card @WayneRooney there's no contact no force it's a sliding tackle that clean wins the ball

100%

@BBCMOTD 11 men we piss that game, but with 10 to nick a 3rd and then hang on when Mexico get a dodgy decision. In amazing chary

I remember watching that game and feeling the pride of seeing teamwork and skill come together so perfectly

Great performance, well battled a great win 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Brilliant performance - what a win! ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Nice tune

If England keeps this up, even the Euros will need a coffee break.
