These guys definitely give him a run for the money.
Poland
Even more impressive when you know he was struggling with the flu and a raging temperature!
It's a real pearl...
West Side Story
I agree 👍🏻
Watch that famous Singing in the Rain dance scene again. Concentrate only on the camera work. Gene Kelly wasn't the only genius involved.
It was one of my mom’s favorites… she wanted this played at her visitation before her funeral… 😢 love the song and dance.. 🕺 the good ole days …
And this one!
I have been a fan since a child. This just washing your heart & soul❣️🙏
You said dance! Here, enjoy ☺️
In all seriousness this is also my favourite old movie dance scene.
It was stated that Gene did that number with a high fever, how wild is that?
Always starts an argument in our house. Mrs Notabot a big Kelly fan. Astaire (Rightly) gets my vote as the superior dancer. This one's a clear winner.....................
And... THIS is GREAT as well !
morcambe and wise 1 is hilarious lol
Who hasn’t tried to dance like this in the rain while humming the tune? Brilliant.
You gotta love Gene Kelly… a fellow Pittsburgher!
Did you know that the rain wasn’t just water? 🌧️they mixed in a bit of milk (or sometimes glycerin) to make the raindrops more visible on camera and that Gene Kelly performed that legendary dance while running a high fever of about 102°F!
They say this scene took five days to shoot, all those wet suits and tap shoes? Tap shoes are like ice skates on water. One of my favorite dance scenes...
Classic 🤍
another great dance scene 😎😂😂😂😂😂
Yes, classic.
@Cath74Kat One of the best movies ever ☺️
Sure 👏
I haven’t seen the movie in years and I knew it immediately. Thank you for memory lane 💙☺️😊
@Farmer_Boycie Loved this
Nice job on singing a great song too
Agreed. As much as I adored Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, this is an absolute classic!!
Gene Kelly was a fantastic dancer. Love watching his old movies.
It is said that Gene Kelly loved Morecambe & Wise's spoof of Singing in the Rain from I think 1976 & said it was the best recreation of it he'd seen.
