One of the great commentators. David Coleman….One Nil!!

I really miss the days of straightforward commentaries on games rather than the banal chats today between commentators and co-commentators.

What an iconic voice. You can't fake that enthusiasm and he was the same when commentating on an FA Cup tie, a 400m sprint in the Olympics or Kevin Keegan getting absolutely battered by Brian Jacks at squat thrusts in Superstars.

Exciting but not excitable. I can't bear modern commentating (I think Barry Davies shares this view).
