One of the greatest jazz compositions ever created

lee morgan!!!!

Looking at you, Mr. Timmons.

Live the LHR interpretation :

Indeed. Also want to shout out the Bobby Timmons and Mingus’ versions.

Bobby Timmons had a slick hand on Moanin

Art Blakey (dr), Lee Morgan (t), Jymie Merritt (b), Bennie Golson (s) and Bobby Timmons(p).

Love seeing these performances. Thanks!

❤️

I saw the Butler University Jazz Ensemble perform this a couple of weeks ago and they did a very nice job of it.

Bobby Timmons. Under appreciated and didn't fully realize his self worth as a composer.

Moanin' 🖤

Absolutely!!🫡💯😎✨✨✨✨

♥️

I remember playing a version of this for my middle school jazz recital, been in love since. I adore this and the Mingus version as well.

There's no guitar in it

Don't like it at all. So unstructured.

Real masterpiece. I enjoy listinening to this piece every time.

Absolute jewel worthy of the Louvre. Wait, no, not there, they may steal it.
