Easily the greatest and only acceptable live action portrayal of Romeo & Juliet.

“Turn thee, and look upon thy death.” is the coldest line imagined to intimidate Benvolio. Dude IMMEDIATELY knew he was gone if he didn’t drop the sword.

Tybalt was live asf but Mercutio was written like a beast

The two leads were hopelessly out of their depth with the material, but my god did Leguizamo and Perrineau EAT

Graduated high school in 97, so this was still new. Our Senior English teacher didn’t know about this adaptation, and we convinced him to let us watch it. He loved it... had notes and points to discuss at the next class, too. Started showing it each semester thereafter.

Maturing from a girl into a woman is when you realize Tybalt STOLE the movie. John Leguizamo deserves more recognition, esp for his work during the 90's cuz he was on a heater. He was and is THAT guy.

YASSSSSS. When he drops to his knees, rips off the jacket and 😘🤌🏼 I love teaching this to my freshmen every year. Gather round children and allow me to introduce you to an absolute legend, John Leguizamo. Also impossible to watch this movie and not recite every line with it.

You're not wrong, and that soundtrack...

John Leguizamo has the be on the Mount Rushmore of Latinos actors. James Edward Olmos, Benecio Del Torre and Lou Diamond Phillips😂

Absolute fucking GEM of a film. idgaf what anyone says.
