Some people don’t “struggle” with changing. They like who they are… even if it’s destroying them. They love the drama. They love the attention that comes with pain. They love blaming everyone else so they never have to look in the mirror. You’ll offer: advice resources second chances prayers They’ll offer: excuses stories tears the same behavior next week. Hard truth: You can’t drag someone out of a cage they keep decorating. Your job is not to fix adults. Your job is to: protect your peace enforce your boundaries walk away when their choices start killing your future change yourself so you don’t become just like them Love them from a distance if you have to. Wish them well. But stop sacrificing your sanity on the altar of someone who has no intention of being different. Not everyone wants to change. Make sure you do.

Perhaps they're wiser than you. That's the hardest lesson of all.

Adding a hot chick at the beginning was wise

Oh Christ. 😂 The counter of is this is obviously that many young people take one course in college that is powerfully designed to come to a specific ideologically based conclusion based on cherry-picked info and then imagine their parents are dinosaurs if they don’t go along.

Parents are not perfect. And we as children did not come with instruction manuals, so they may repeat the same mistakes their Parents made. As Children we see Parents as our wish fulfilling machines, but they may not have the capacity or will to furnish our every daydream. Perhaps they were stern and we wanted comfort. Perhaps they were indulgent and we wanted guidance. If we were fed, clothed and educated that is basic success for a Parent. Everything else they gave us is gravy, icing on the cake. As Adults - We can only be grateful for what we got from our Parents and forgive them for what we thought we should have had. As Adults - We must learn to raise ourselves up.

This video is laced with boomer ideas. Leave, make your own family, wait until they die and sell their assets so you can repeat the cycle. Same bullshit they were taught. Nope.

Fun fact: your parents are learning to be ppl too.

Wow

@tay_squared__

Thank you!

Wow this is deep

Change isn’t hard because it’s painful. It’s hard because it removes the excuses.
