One of the worst things about the difference between 3rd and 4th at the Olympics? It leads to opinions like this being aired on the national broadcaster, which many people will end up believing.

For the record: two Irish swimmers won medals in Paris (and both were outstanding) One has been based in England for several years. The other has been based in the US for several years.

Two/three of those girls in the 4x400 work part time to achieve their dreams with the back up of family and friends, and came 4th in the World many more do the same. Plenty more Irish Olympians doing the same give it a break Nick...
