One simple idea that I put on the table and lined up years ago would transform New Brighton forever. River Taxis. They are successfully operated across the Thames and could have regular daily services from the bottom of Victoria Rd to Everton’s ground & the Pier-head.

Supervised Consumption Services at Sheldon Chumir Health Centre are operated by Alberta Health Services. Two years ago, I shared concerns related to public safety in the area, the impact on neighbours, and the draw on City of Calgary and Calgary Police resources with Provincial officials. Service providers and the data tell us one centralized site is not the answer. Drug poisonings are happening throughout the city. Since 2022, Calgarians have been waiting for the provincial government to offer additional or alternate solutions, given that health and addictions are provincial responsibilities. Today, I reinforce this message and urgency required to address this issue.
