Is Tyler Robinson the New Karen Read? We all want justice for Charlie, but it is our responsibility and duty to presume innocence, no matter how it makes us feel. This is the promise of our nation and a right deserved by all protected by it. The burden of guilt must be PROVEN beyond a reasonable doubt and we should expect nothing less. Tensions are high and the argument over granular details is just getting started, but we must not let our emotions overtake what the prosecution must prove. I hope the case is iron clad, obvious and justice is served swiftly. But, so many questions still remain unanswered and we must remember that the truth is far more important than hastily managed presumption. The truth is out there. It bothers me that people actually think people would want a guilty man to go free just because they question the story. How does that even make sense? Why would any of us actually want that? They are letting their emotions cloud their judgment. None of us want a guilty man free, what we want is THE TRUTH. Because, if he didn't do it, who did? Why wouldn't all of us expect no stone to be left unturned? We owe our fellow citizen the same right, no matter how we feel about it. MAKE THEM PROVE IT. Everyone should want that.

Obama: When I think back to a year ago, I remember talking to some people, who would say, this election doesn't matter all that much. That however the next president ended up being, it wasn't going to matter to them. If nothing else, the last nine months should have cured us of that idea. Because the stakes are now clear. We do not need to speculate about the dangers to our democracy. We do not need to wonder about whether vulnerable people will be hurt, or ask ourselves how much meaner our culture needs to become. We witnessed it. Elections do matter. And they matter for you.

You know, in one sense, if the Buddha didn't exist, you could still technically have Buddhism. You could have the philosophies. You could have the noble truths...It didn't have to be Gautama Siddhartha who came up with those things. It could have been anybody. Likewise, in Islam, it could have been anybody. I am deeply grateful to all our partners who support us with air defense systems and missiles. This is a truly global effort. Every time Russia carries out such attacks, it underscores how critical it is that partners don’t leave systems like Patriot and others sitting idle in warehouses, but instead provide them to those who know how to protect lives and urgently need them. We still haven’t received all the necessary systems from our allies—but we continue to work toward that goal. Once these systems are in place, our ability to repel attacks will be much stronger. One more thing: The plan for strengthening Ukraine is the Victory Plan that I presented to our partners. One of its key elements is providing our army with long-range capabilities. There’s been much said in the media today that we have received approval to take relative actions. But strikes are not carried out with words. These things are not announced. The missiles will speak for themselves.

Not all of our Muslim neighbors are violent. Not at all. The vast majority of Muslims that we meet will not be violent. We can befriend them and love them. We can share the gospel with them and see the image of God in them, just as much in them as it is in us and our children. At the same time, we must be completely clear-eyed about the contradiction between the American way of life and the ideology of political Islam. We must do that. I think we are obligated to do that.
