Over 150 people have been killed and hundreds more are missing after devastating flash floods swept through the Himalayan region along the Nepal-Tibet border, officials from both countries confirmed Wednesday. The majority of the flooding has occurred along the Trishuli and Bhotekoshi rivers in the north of the country. Nepal’s Tourism Board said that 403 people were missing as a result of the flooding, including 341 foreign nationals and 62 Nepali citizens. Read more here:

The disaster has killed at least 903 people, while more than 4,200 remain missing in Nepal. Rescue teams are battling deep mud, debris and dangerous conditions as they try to access the tunnels. Officials say there is still hope that some people may have survived in safer areas underground.
