The signs pointing to Luffy gaining fire-fist abilities as a "Sun God Nika" power-up make sense.After all, Zazaas the Rain God. uses rain and water as his power. So, as the Sun God, it stands to reason that Luffy would awaken fire abilities in Gear 5. Incidentally, I think this fire ability will function differently from ordinary fire powers; it will likely serve as a perfect counter to Omen, enabling Luffy to burn his opponent's very soul. But enough about the potential characteristics of this ability. We saw a cover in Chapter 1028 featuring him with fiery fists, and in the Egghead arc (Chapter 1062), he briefly took on a fiery form, even if it was played for laughs.

There are hints here and there, but the main highlight is *Film: Red*, which was the first to show Luffy in Gear 5 (before it had appeared in the anime) and gave him a combination of a "Fire Fist" and Advanced Conqueror's Haki to defeat the Demon King. It is also interesting that Shanks coated his sword in fire and launched it, using Gryphon, so that the two abilities (likely both coated in Conqueror's Haki) fused together to defeat the Demon King. That is why I think Luffy might actually awaken this ability during the Elbaf arc.

I figured Luffy already had fire based abilities due to red hawk and moves like that. Though considering him being the sun god, yeah it makes sense that he’ll get more fire based abilities due. It seems like all mythical zoans are basically the three devil fruit types in one….

Flaming Conqueror's haki infused attacks. Where did i see that before?

I've always wanted Luffy to have fire abilities; he's literally called the Sun God. I wish he could form a sun in his hands and imbue it with Conqueror's Haki.

I had a theory. Luffy awaken under the Moon in Wano. Elbaph is a centric Sun Nation so that is probably where it will happen. Maybe in the Heaven Realm.

I think this is spiritual conqueror haki to counter demons, after all why would haki be so important to hit the devil fruit users
