I also enjoyed weatching all the lead shards fall into the hole when you can see how very simple it would be to remove this manifold first with a couple bolts.

A 1”x1/2” hex head bushing would have also achieved the same thing, plus it could be easily removed when not needed. That would be genius.

Should have put ptf tape on the thread for an air tight seal, at the end.

First what stopped the melted metal from going deeper than just the bottom of the threaded opening ? or you could just buy the correct threaded bushing at your local hardware store
