Another memory slot stays untouched under the keyboard 😄😄😄

Yesss

Not sure I trust this video. He should have shown computer info with 0 Gb RAM, but he didn't. Linux still needs some of it.

20 years ago I challenged my friends to run Linux on a computer without HDD, I looked like a wizard when I showed up with a live CD 😊

Big flex indeed! 😆

Some levono T and X series thinkpads (and Many others) come with on board ram with only a single slots for upgrade

this is not limited to IBM ThinkPad users. Using SSD / HDD as memory swap is possible. Go to bash type the following to create a 16Gigabytes swapfile. sudo fallocate -l 16G /swapfile sudo chmod 600 /swapfile sudo mkswap /swapfile sudo swapon /swapfile or in bash type free -h to see details

its the second slot! first under the Keyboard! 😝

What’s the gag, it’s using swap space in HDD or that there’s a second RAM stick under the keyboard? People forget about SWAP.

He's a second slot cheapskate that prolly rewashes his baloney

This is fake as hell, there is RAM on that device.

One ram slot under the keyboard

A PC can't boot without RAM: the CPU can't process the data coming from POST operations. The BIOS would stop the boot and throw an error in this case. Nice try ;)

Lenovo I had came with 4 GB soldered on. Only one expansion slot.

cmon. They system won't boot up without physical ram. The cpu's memory is too small to hold the necessary essentials during boot up. In theory a Linux OS can work on a virtual swap, but you need at least 1GB of physical Ram for everything to boot. So I am very skeptical

Those boards had 1 stick soldered on and 1 stick not soldered 😂

There is another ram under the keyboard

finally he found out embedded ram chip :) congrat

Stop with that nonsense, unless you can actually show the integrated RAM chip on the board, you’re full of it

Electricity is the minimum requirement… 😀

Haha we know there is a little bit of RAM, the video is funny 😂

No RAM => no video, no nothing. Soldered RAM (?).

Yeah, pretty sure I've worked on those before... there was an expansion slot on the bottom for additional memory and 8gb installed on the motherboard that you couldn't access without taking the whole laptop apart.

😌

CPUs got so much cache these days

That slot is an expansion. There is either onboard ram or another slot under the keyboard…. Total horse shizt!

Quite old ThinkPad. My W530 has 4 modules of 8 GB. Two at the bottom and two under keyboard. Im writing from it right now.

Hay otra memoria bajo el teclado, y en los Toshiba Portege M750 también.

Remove both dimm's

That legendary "IBM THINKPAD" logo on boot splash

He only took out one slot.

Show output of /bin/top.

Linux do need RAM , any one runs vms know that , and it way smoother with more space

swap partition ?
