Oops! 😬 Time to serve up an apology... 😅

😂 BBC Sport having a little fun with themselves using the phrase ‘serve up an apology’ while admitting a mistake during Wimbledon coverage is actually top-tier wordplay 😭

Lucky it wasn't a cricket ball.

@Adambunn28

It’s a tennis ball not a cricket ball, get up

Sure 👍😃

Beautiful to see

Is he out?

Serve an apology

BBC Sport owe a proper one here, not a cute tweet. If you get the headline wrong, at least own it straight away.

Yeah😂😂

Thats got to hurt

@DayHesketh

Is that Marcus Willis firing that ball? If so, definitely intentional 🤪

That's gonna hurt. Amazing this doesn't happen more

We've all been there. The real measure isn't making mistakes, it's owning them quickly and learning from them. Looking forward to seeing how this one gets handled.

Ouch!

Can't believe they're laughing. Lol

He doesn’t move quick enough after hitting him for me to feel like this wasn’t intentional🤣

@Charlie09752748

Nothing humbles you faster than realizing you got it wrong. A sincere apology usually earns more respect than pretending nothing happened.

No problem it’s ok 😂

I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often

Last match round of 32

I follow back immediately

Did that to a girl once many years ago. Forgiven in the end after the sting subsided but it was pretty frosty looks for a few points.

If you're going to stand there, put the racket behind your head

Ooops
