The Magic Whip 10th Anniversary. To celebrate, a special vinyl edition of the album featuring brand new artwork and a five-piece capsule collection are being released on 25th April 2025. Includes, a green bomber jacket, red t-shirt, tote bag, ice cream pin badge and a Mr Ok umbrella. Visual artist Tony Hung has reimagined the album’s original artwork to create a special new red and gold album cover. With added foil embossed details, the new artwork edition vinyl is available as a half-speed mastered, single gold disc for the first time. "My reworking for the anniversary edition was inspired by a deep dive into the album’s lyrics. Here, I found more intensity, anxiety and a dystopian edge, all of which I wanted to convey in the new edition. Upturned, the now spoilt ice cream brought a heavier tone, whilst the cone suggested a tower-like structure. The idea of an active broadcast tower, soaring above the clouds felt oppressive and menacing, suitably setting the scene. The final cover art was achieved by juxtaposing the above with the vibrant aesthetic and colours associated with ‘lai see' (lucky money) envelopes; a traditional Chinese gesture, where said envelopes are gifted to loved ones during special occasions such as the lunar new year, birthdays, anniversaries etc. Perfectly befitting The Magic Whip's 10th anniversary, wherein our package contains the gift of music.” - Tony Hung On 12th April, a limited-edition, zoetrope picture disc edition of The Magic Whip will be exclusively available in independent record stores for Record Store Day 2025. ✨ I've brought back from the dead It was my first visual AI project in 2022, and it's this project that generated random ArchDaily-style architecture designs that made me realize AI image models could do interior design That led me to make which then led me to finetune my first interior design model which then for fun I uploaded my own photos too, which led me to make and then pivoted that in to So this project has a special place for me It was still alive but wasn't generating new designs anymore because it ran on Stable Diffusion 1.5 which was outdated and everything stopped working about a year ago I've now migrated it to its own Hetzner VPS now, which means I can run Claude Code on the server with it, and cleaned it up and upgraded it to the latest AI image models (including Nano Banana Pro) It now generates about 12 new designs every day again, and you can up or downvote the ones you like or don't like!

Still obsessing over #Saiyaara and might watch it again, but this movie draws a special message evidently & clearly that: if a “Man” has to stay and make things work, he will go to any extent to ensure it, to keep his “Woman”, that’s the only kind of love I understand! Also thanks Mohit Suri for no sad endings, plus that scene when Krish holds Vaani close to him during bike ride is my favourite and the other one is when he drapes her saree before their special moment - a new beginning! Too good! This was like reigniting love and passion back to cinema, which was NEEDED!!! P.S. I clearly enjoy watching these minute details - gestures of love! 🥰 (Talking about “men” in love, not “manchild” or “F-bois” or “boys”, coz real men takes commitment seriously!)

Me and my Dad spent all day yesterday on the 3.0D SE X5. 2x Injectors changed, one of which was truly knackered due to (I think) water ingress. Turns out the Swirl flaps had already been deleted which is nice, new gaskets on the injectors and inlet manifold too. Tried to start it as we lost light and the battery was dead 😂 Left it on charge all night, tried this morning before I left for London and it just wouldn’t start. Presumed it was air in the fuel system needing bleeding out but didn’t have time. Got home this afternoon and to say that a decent diagnostic machine pays for itself over and over again is an understatement (Kingbolen K10PRO FYI) Actuated the fuel pump for 5 minutes, then cranked the car for about 20 second where it sparked into life. The Diagnostic machine then wanted me to purge the fuel system for 10 minutes at 2,000RPM which I let it do. Turned the car off and on again and it has ran perfectly, put heating, A/C, heated seats and as much load as I could - still stayed running. It basically hasn’t done that now for a month. Took it up and down the road, got up to national speed limit, all seems fine 😳 Still have a few things do sort to get it through its MOT which is mainly bulbs and a faulty fog light - what should be fairly straight forward things 🤞 then just a cosmetic touch up 🫟🖌️

You'll often hear it asserted that the digital shots George Lucas added to the Death Star battle for the Special Edition of A New Hope, ironically, actually look inferior to the original shots, and blend less seamlessly with the footage of live actors. Is this true? You could say it's subjective, but let's take a look anyway. Compare these two versions of the iconic shot(s) of the Rebel starfighters gathered in formation on approach to the Death Star. The Special Edition is on the left and the original version is on the right. Is the Special Edition version actually so incredibly ugly? Is it actually less credible than the original version? Is it actually less dramatically effective? The answer to all these questions, I think, is clearly no. It is obvious why Lucas was not satisfied with the effects in the original pair of shots, and it is obvious that the new (combined) shot is closer to the image he had in his head in 1977. Anyone who tries to tell you the original shots do not look jarringly dated (which is not the case for many of the shots in this sequence, which were not replaced) is not engaging rationally. They either do not really remember what the original version looked like, because they have not actually watched it in years, or they are the victim of Lucas Derangement Syndrome.

We said goodbye to my father today. George Mathew, known by Sunny to friends & family, was truly a one of one. From being born to unimaginable hardships in India, to coming to America with only $20 in his pocket ($7 of which that he spent on beer in London), to becoming a successful business man and father, he was the embodiment of “beating the odds” and living the American dream. I owe my life to his sacrifice. This is my favorite photo of us two, taken recently on my engagement this year. Dad was battling late stage cancer at this point but didn’t hesitate to be there on my special day because he wanted to see me mark the beginning of my new life as a grown man. And, even in that amazing moment, I was so excited to just get a hug and approval from my dad. Cheers to the honor of being your son and knowing we’ll get to dance together again in the future. RIP Pops ❤️ 3/19/59-7/20/23.

🐈🥰🫂🇵🇸It was wonderful to read your words and feel you celebrate with us, my dear friends. While some strikes continued to fall around us, the army has now begun to withdraw, and 🇵🇸🌿#Gaza City is taking a big sigh of relief. There are many thousands of us still here, and we knew our days were limited if change did not happen. Just this week there were tanks in our streets, and now there are only birds in the sky and peace on the ground. It is a miracle to be alive, my dear friends. Thank you and thank you again, for standing by us and always showing me and my family and my friends your unconditional love and support. I hope that soon aid will be able to flood into the area, and we will be able to return to helping people and the cats and the dogs again. I forgot to mention this yesterday, but we have a new cat living in our shelter. He is a very gentle and loving boy, and he turned up in my house where my cousin Mo took him to the shelter to be safe. 🐈🥰🫂🇵🇸It was wonderful to read your words and feel you celebrate with us, my dear friends. While some strikes continued to fall around us, the army has now begun to withdraw, and 🇵🇸🌿#Gaza City is taking a big sigh of relief. There are many thousands of us still here, and we knew our days were limited if change did not happen. Just this week there were tanks in our streets, and now there are only birds in the sky and peace on the ground. It is a miracle to be alive, my dear friends. Thank you and thank you again, for standing by us and always showing me and my family and my friends your unconditional love and support. I hope that soon aid will be able to flood into the area, and we will be able to return to helping people and the cats and the dogs again. I forgot to mention this yesterday, but we have a new cat living in our shelter. He is a very gentle and loving boy, and he turned up in my house where my cousin Mo took him to the shelter to be safe. While learning Unreal Engine 5, I decided to port over most of Hyperion to it to see if I could potentially move my workflows over to UE5. Although it worked decently well, it didn't work well enough to allow me to change over entirely. Hyperion is simply too complex of an asset for real-time workflows (or at least is limited due to my knowledge of said workflows). 131 4K-8K UDIMs at over 8 channels and a solid amount of shaders with layering being the biggest bottleneck. I couldn't even match the shading setup to what I have in RenderMan, UE gave me a warning that the material was too complex. I was using the new Substrate materials, which mimic RenderMan LAMA shaders. The render below is using the pathtracer. As you can see there are some random flickering parts which I couldn't fix during my tests. This render of course doesn't have any displacement either (which Hyperion heavily relies on). I think Unreal Engine has a very bright future, but it is still limited by todays hardware technology for high end VFX work. Maybe in a few years I will give it another try when hardware improves and the engine becomes a bit more versatile in feature-set.

I came to Linea.eth as a crypto newbie, afraid to even make a couple of transactions. The testnet toughened me up and taught me a lot. Linea Voyage gave me more confidence and knowledge - I was farming LXP and learning, but mostly in a mechanical way. 👨‍🔬 Everything changed one day when my friend sent me a tweet from Linea announcing that a Frog NFT collection would launch on the network. Without hesitation, I joined the Ethereum Frogs 🐸 Telegram chat and started grinding for WL. Right away, I met Pran, Sᕼᗩᘻᗩ, 0xSupertramp🥕, and the OGs, who are still in the community today. From that moment, activity in Linea became full of life! ❤️‍🔥 We learned, made mistakes, tried new things - every single day! Without exaggeration, we started and ended our days together 🐸 Later, I became Frog of the Month alongside Cipresa and bilgute.eth🐸, and our leader, Sᕼᗩᘻᗩ, invited us to a conference in Brussels. That was something else! We attended the conference, side events, learned, worked, watched football, and drank beer together with Linea.eth! I was amazed at how close the team was to the community and how open everyone was. As time passed, I became even more involved in eFrogs and joined the team as a moderator. CROAK had already been launched, we were making new partnerships almost daily, we launched the new eFroglets collection, and we just kept building! We launched PondFun (and are now preparing for its revival). We met with Linea again, this time in Singapore at TOKEN2049, and even presented our project to vitalik.eth. Throughout the conferences, I was lucky to meet, listen to, and connect with so many amazing people Trantor, Suza, Declan Fox, Francesco Andreoli ᵍᵐ, cam, Big Iron Chris, alain.linea.eth, Ema // (🫰,✨), , ZeroLend - I’m even afraid to tag them all because I know they won’t fit in one message!
