Universal Ostrich Farms Update: We are still trying to get a headcount on the number of birds here, it is proving to be quite difficult. The family is quite concerned, as are supporters. The CFIA will not provide a headcount and are not being transparent with the family or the public. The RCMP have stated that they have begun in an investigation and that the investigation is ongoing but they are relying on information from CFIA for their investigation. I don't know if there are missing birds here, but I think that the truth matters and we are going to do our best to get to the bottom of it. More to come.

"How do you allow the criminal to lead the investigation?" Karen, Katie and Mike Rude give us the latest update from Universal Ostrich Farms. There is a growing concern that the number of birds here is far lower than it should be and the family has been desperately trying to get a head count. Mike has been collecting evidence which was given to our RCMP this morning. The RCMP confirmed that they have begun and investigation and that is ongoing. Now we're hearing that the people informing RCMP for their investigation are the very ones that should be being investigated! The lack of transparency here is appalling. CFIA should have a headcount at all times in sharing this information would go a long way to easing the family's concerns. If CFIA won't do the right thing, I implore the RCMP to investigate this properly and do their job as police.

Mike and Katie attempted to deliver this evidence, with the sworn testimony from Mike, to the RCMP. Katie was ignored, told someone would call her and about an hour later we got word that someone would meet with Katie and Mike tomorrow morning at 0800. More to come.

Mike Rude (retired) volunteered to get a headcount and collected photographic and video evidence and prepared an affidavit to provide RCMP. When Katie and Mike attempted to make contact with RCMP, they were ignored. Liaison offices were nowhere to be found, but they were there at the legion last night when Mike and Spark were kicked out. After some delay, Katie was given word that RCMP would meet her and Mike at 0800 tomorrow morning. Updates to follow.

UPDATE from Universal Ostrich Farms: Mike and I took FOB SMITH to the RCMP command post. There is a lot of fencing and a lot of bins there today but far less vehicles and police than usual. There is still no official ostrich count and no indication that CFIA or RCMP will be doing one. Mike and I are continuing to gather evidence, we are looking for the truth. There is zero transparency here and a lot of things in place that make it appear there is something to hide. CFIA or the RCMP could easily put many of these questions to rest with a count of the birds and a sliver of transparency.

OP BIRDCOUNT This video we shot this morning shows almost the entire seized area at Universal Ostrich Farms. CFIA are not transparent, they do not communicate with the family and do not communicate with the public or media. There is concern about how the animals are being treated as well as an even more serious concern that appears to be far less ostriches then there should be. Evidence collected by Mike Rude was delivered to the RCMP this morning and they confirmed that an investigation has been started. Update from Universal Ostrich Farms Days after the slaughter it appears that CFIA is getting closer to leaving. Flatbeds and trucks have been seen in the area and we suspect they will be used to collect the fencing around the property. People, including myself, are still dealing with the trauma from what happened here. I think I'm mostly out of shock and exhaustion and emotion are setting in. There's still a lot to do here. There will be a lot of work to do once the CFIA and RCMP clear out, I will update as things progress.

This is Canada's national police force, the RCMP. They are working as a paramilitary protection force for unelected bureaucrats at the CFIA. They have been occupying and destroying another family's property adjacent to Universal Ostrich Farms and they have been terrorizing the family while they do it. Watch how this PLT comes at me and treats me. These are supposed to be the people who are best suited to deal with the public and stressful situations, she failed miserably here.

The White House is going to play ball on this. So as Rep Burlison and Burchett has stated they are following through on everything that we are sending them. What a sh*tshow. The RCMP tells Canadian Army veteran Sgt. Mike Rude (retired) and a man recording on his phone that the semis delivering hay to cull the ostriches at the Universal Ostrich Farm in BC can cover their plates because of "threats." The officers explain that there has been a complaint and the vehicles in the area are now involved in an investigation, and he orders a man driving a pickup truck to produce his license for the police investigation. The man complies and Sgt. Rude also offers his information to affirm that the pickup driver's story about the dramatic show the semis put on is true and accurate. They clearly had plenty of room to make the turn and were not obstructed in any way. It's disturbing that the CFIA and RCMP are proceeding full steam ahead with cull preparations and building the massive hay wall that will be used to "destroy" the ostriches despite the Supreme Court stay. It's almost like they know with absolute confidence what the outcome will be. It seems that the police don't want people who disagree with the companies going along with their farce to be able to lawfully express their disagreement or make their own decisions to boycott the businesses. In a statement days ago, the RCMP said that companies have the right to work with whoever they want without being harassed. They also said they are working on investigations to charge individuals for harassing businesses. Though I have been unable to find any information from the RCMP that they are investigating the very serious gun crime of someone shooting the farm's ostriches over the past 9 months. Sgt. Rude points out that it appears the police can basically make the rules up as they go, such as covering plates and DOT / CVOR information.
