OpenAI Dots engineer: "Dots can do what GrokBot and Muse can`t. I run 10+ Dots 24/7, even when I sleep" the whole point is persistence, not better chat your AI keeps watching, thinking and moving the work forward while you’re gone this is where agents start getting scary useful...

I keep seeing posts about running multiple Dots but from what I can tell you can only have one Dot? It can run multiple sessions but I wouldn’t call that “run 10+ dots”. Am I missing something?

huh what? grokbot and muse run 24/7 too. why are these guys always saying stuff like its new ? is there context missing or something?

Right now dots, on local PC windows can’t do computer use. Confirmed by a support ticket I have with OpenAI. Really wish they could do computer use

Dude is living in a box.. Muse already does the persistence thing really well.

It’s really cool to use AI when you work at a lab and have no limits.

haha ai companies wants us to do things 24/7 . Because that’s the only way they’re not losing billions every year. they are killing all jobs and people using these tools on their job are becoming less and less. So something like muse is the only way but dots is not better

Yeah, he can run 10 dots. Because he works at open AI. Have two because I have two $100 accounts. I'd be paying $1000 a month to have the amount of power he does.

10 dots that you will have to pay for, I assume, when you can just keep Bot or Muse. This isn't going to go well for OpenAI, and they already released dots, and they are still not performing better than Grok or Muse.

.@grok watch this, give me the TLDR summary. And fact check the claims.

Amazing, but where is the multiple-dots feature? I can't seem to find it anywhere. It's a bit odd to talk about a feature that isn't actually available to customers. 🤔

Even though we only have one Dot for now? Amazing (cough AI)

My one, doesn’t. No idea why it’s so lazy.

10+? Cool nice to know you get unlimited tokens. While the rest of us get a crappy single dot that I’ve still failed to see the true benefit of.

How you run dots if we are able to have just one.

PMF at OpenAI means enough AGI-pilled OpenAI employees with unlimited usage think it’s good enough.

Dots are completely useless at the moment

An average person doesn't need multiple agents, make one that actually works. It's fine if it takes 10 minutes instead of 2. No one is that busy.

Dots absolutely do not push work forward. I have to keep hounding my dot.

exactly what do dots do that grok bots can’t do? haven’t found anything yet… dots don’t do tailscale and ssh yet…

I'm 99% sure anyone saying something positive about dots is paid by OpenAI and I know to never take them seriously again. They are literally retarded and useless - why would you give them ANY autonomy when they fuck up everything

10 Dots running 24/7 on GPT-6 Astra at $10 per million input tokens and $50 per million output. Persistence is the pitch. The token bill is the plot twist.

OpenAI Dots is way deeper than the launch demo makes it look... I pulled together the 7 videos worth watching before you hire your first Dot. they run under 3 hours total and cover what the launch demo left out Here are 7 videos: video 1 → How Sam Altman Actually Uses AI (Every, 33 min). Altman walks through his own Dot, how it triages his morning and which features it builds without being asked video 2 → OpenAI's Dots lead on the future of ChatGPT (Sources, 45 min). Alexander Embiricos, who runs the product, explains why Dots started as one agent and how permissions and Space shape what it's allowed to do video 3 → OpenAI's New Agent Stack (Latent Space, 40 min). Computer Use, the Decisions API, UltraFast and the Linux computer every Dot gets video 4 → ChatGPT Dots Just Dropped (Brendan Jowett, 22 min). a hands-on run with schedules, an Airbnb booking and MCP, plus the bugs he hit and why one account still gets only one Dot video 5 → The dots demo, take two (OpenAI, 9 min). the official demo again, recorded after the live one broke on stage video 6 → Everything Announced at OpenAI Dev Day 2026 (PCMag, 16 min). Dots, Space, Sol and Codex Cloud in one recap, useful if you missed the keynote video 7 → We Tested OpenAI DevDay Products (Every, 10 min). a full week of real use with Dots, Space and the Decisions API watch them in this order and the architecture in the article below stops feeling abstract. you'll know what a Dot can do on its own and where it still needs you Grab the full Dots video roadmap in the comments, then read the complete architecture below ↓
