Open/closed syllables in K. I’ve been wanting to explicitly teach this for weeks. Today, I went for it and taught how several of our new irregular words, weren’t really irregular. They’re just an open syllable. Here’s the lesson introduction. Stay tuned for more. Science of Reading Classroom

@SoRclassroom @MaryDahlgren FYI

@SoRclassroom Thank you so much!

@SoRclassroom Do you have a place where your daily schedule is posted?

@SoRclassroom I did earlier in the year, then I needed that prime real estate for vocabulary words😆

@SoRclassroom Can you share where you got your picture imbedded alphabet cards? Did you make them? And where did you get your smaller sound wall cards and contrasting large mouth pictures above! And I love how you model USING the sound wall/vowel valley as a tool. Thank you!

@SoRclassroom

@SoRclassroom Thank you, Mrs. Pallone! This lesson is very timely for @ccpsela…our S&S is right with yours. Great use of your Sound Wall!
