In the early hours of today, the youth of Asuokyire in the Aowin District of the Western North Region expressed their anger over the destruction of their land and the contamination of the Tano River caused by galamsey operations led by some Chinese nationals. They stormed the Tano Numire forest, where galamsey activities were in full swing, swiftly halting the illegal mining operations, arresting two Chinese nationals, seizing three excavators, and destroying their shelters on site. The youth also claimed that some chiefs and elders of the community are complicit in the illegal mining activities.

On Friday, 11 October 2024, five Palestinian laborers from Dheisheh Refugee Camp were tending to a plot of farmland in Wadi Rahal in Bethlehem District, when three settlers arrived, one masked and bearing a rifle and the other two carrying clubs, and attacked two of the workers. The settlers tied their hands with zip ties, and then beat them with the clubs and kicked them all over their bodies. Meanwhile, more settlers arrived and joined in the assault. Soldiers who were there went over to the other three workers and attacked them, beating them with their rifles and hands. About 10 minutes later, an officer arrived, at which point the soldiers stopped attacking the workers. The officer and other soldiers then drove in a military jeep towards the settlers, who were still abusing the first two workers, and ordered them to stop. The soldiers drove the five injured workers to a Palestinian ambulance that took them to Al-Hussein Hospital in Bethlehem, where they were given first aid and painkillers, and then discharged. The assailants left unhindered
