The increase in social security pension to ₹3,000 is part of our #IndiraGuarantees programme and will be implemented at the earliest. Within a month of assuming office, we fulfilled two key guarantees — free travel for women in KSRTC buses and the creation of a separate department for elderly welfare. Social security pension is also among our guarantees, and we are determined to deliver it without delay. I was disappointed today when the opposition blocked a motion condemning the federal government's plan to take advantage of the kindness and compassion of Nova Scotians.
