I've never understood why devs and publishers come after the mod communities when they're not charging money and are adding fun content or just simply making the game look and/or run better. At the end of the day it just hurts the companies reputation.

It's too close to the BO6 launch. They're trying to market the new game but everybody is focused on a mod for an ancient one. I'm not disagreeing that it's an L move, but you can't say it doesn't make sense.

MW2 is one of the best games ever made. When the fans wanted to remake Half Life, one of the best video games ever made, Valve enabled them to go retail and gave them the original Xen design documents. MW2s owners used them to sell their game, then took them down. Fuck them.

Because they don’t want people buying old games and playing them. New COD is almost out and this mod will legit take eyes away from the new product and on top of that people will compare etc. Sole reason WoW private servers go shut down too.

Activision needs to do what world of Warcraft talked about which is licensing out IP’s for other companies to make
