Stop saying that Opus 4.6 is better than Opus 4.8. I just tested Claude Opus 4.8 (Right) and Claude Opus 4.6 (Left) on the same exact prompt. Claude Opus 4.8 completed it in less than 2 minutes. Claude Opus 4.6 "Garnished" for over 7 minutes. Stop using Opus 4.6.

Day 3 of getting back to building my gamified workout tracker. (have some AI features) I just tested both Opus 4.8 and GPT-5.5 for the multilingual feature, and Opus 4.8 is still slightly better. Everyone's sleeping on MiniMax. Again. They just shipped M3. The first open-weights model to combine frontier coding, 1M context, and native multimodality in one drop. I plugged it into Claude Code this morning. Pasted a design from Dribbble. Watched M3 write production-ready React code in one session. At the agency, I just replaced Opus 4.8 with M3 for 80% of our coding tasks. The output is the same and we are running everything at a fraction of the cost. Open infrastructure is the future.

Unity 6 + Opus 4.8 built a Minecraft-style game with just 2 prompts 😱 The first prompt took around 15 minutes. The second prompt took around 40 minutes. I wrote down everything I wanted for the first version, GPT expanded it with more details, and I sent it to Opus. Less than an hour later, I had a playable game. I actually spent more time setting up Unity 6 than building the game itself. It's wild to think about where this is heading. If 2 prompts can do this, imagine what an entire project looks like when every feature is built this way. Congrats to Anthropic. What they're building is incredible.

Opus 4.6 vs Gemini Pro 3.1 (7/9) I wanted to do a physics simulation test, overall both models did a good job in this department, however Opus added nice animations to things like "Fan", "Magnet" whilst gemini just rendered them out as a red circle. Opus also included way more effects in its toolbox, like rocket, connecting shapes with rope, springs etc. Should note that in all of these tests, Opus one shotted all of them, whilst gemini took an extra 3-5 prompts to get the project compile :) prompt: Build a polished physics sandbox toy using React + Vite with a real physics engine (Matter.js or Rapier), where users can spawn, grab, throw, and connect objects with springs, hinges, and ropes, plus interactive gadgets like fans and thrusters.

Claude Fable 5 makes new things possible. I one shot a full horror game with it. One prompt. I have never seen AI output a game like this. This is the leap I've been waiting for. 80.3 on SWE-Bench Pro vs Opus 4.8 at 69.2, the biggest jump I have ever seen on that benchmark. It passed GPT 5.5 in both coding and intelligence on Artificial Analysis. I already canceled my $200 ChatGPT Pro plan. It fixed a Bridge Voice bug in one shot that GPT 5.5, Opus 4.7, and Opus 4.8 all failed to crack for 2 months. 10/10. Best model I have ever used. Full review below.
