We had the pleasure of interviewing Ron Frost, Head Coach of Nicholls Softball, who shared his unique story and the “why” behind what fuels his passion for college athletics. Coach Ron is a college baseball player turned college softball coach. The Atlanta native was a pitcher for Alabama State Baseball, and after his playing days he pursued coaching within the baseball program. Frost went on to start a travel ball organization in Alabama and work in sports turf management before finding his way to coaching softball at Vernon College Athletics. In 2022, Frost came to Nicholls as an assistant and was named Head Softball Coach earlier this summer. We look forward to sharing highlights of our conversation with Frost over the next few weeks! Lately, it's become a trend to talk about Carlos as if he only started learning to play tennis well (for some, even to be educated) at 15. As if one coach is the only responsible for his success and for who he is in every aspect. Meanwhile, this was Carlos at age 10 in Murcia. One can acknowledge the work of a coach and give him credit without diminishing the player, who is the one holding the racket and coming back in historic 5: 30 hours finals, as if he didn't exist or have anything to do with his own success or who he is. A world number one, the youngest in history, isn't solely the work of a coach. Is also the work of his family, all his team and people, but above all, it's HIS OWN WORK, his talent, his commitment to his dream, and his constant sacrifice since childhood. Even if every now and then he has the audacity to need to rest for a few days with his friends or family.

On game-days, Sidney Crosby refuses to talk, acknowledge or interact with his own mother and sister 🤯 😂 In juniors, right before a game he spoke with sister and separated his shoulder. In a game before he broke his foot, he had a phone conversation with his mom. 📱 In Pittsburgh, his first major high-ankle sprain injury was because he spoke with sister directly before the game 🗣️ He accidentally saw his sister in passing before the Capitals Winter Classic game, and ultimately ended up with the worst concussion of his career 🧠 Now a days, if the family is in town to watch they will not come out of their hotel room until close to the game time, just in case 😉 😂

Sophomore Amari Jefferson (Amari Jefferson) has well looked the part in the Five Tool Collegiate Leagues The 6-0, 207-pound OF is hitting .409 in his first 22 ABs. A top baseball prospect in the class of 2024, once committed to Tenn for baseball and football. Has some tools that can become explosive when playing the game again. Things come easy for him. Colton Nussmeier transferred to Rummel a little over a week ago. The 4-star quarterback spent his first three seasons in Texas, but now he's with the Raiders for his senior season. He'll early enroll with the Georgia Bulldogs in January. Nussmeier is a top-ten ranked quarterback in the 2027 recruiting class. He can beat opponents with his arm and legs. Plus, he's got some great quarterback pedigree. His dad, Doug, played for the Saints and is now their OC. His brother, Garrett, started at LSU for two seasons and is now with the Chiefs.
