Or I don’t know, maybe just ask the waitress to repeat herself?

Looking down and reading your watch as the server is speaking seems awkward.

In argument….checks recap. Gets slapped.

This is exactly what I thought, I would prefer to say pardon can you repeat instead of literally putting the person in front of me on hold while I check what they said 15 sec ago in front of them😂😂😂😂😂😂

That’s not what they show tho, the waitress leaves, then you wonder “wait what did she say?” then you check your watch

Is this a VAR for conversations?

1. helps people become socially maladjusted oddballs 2. promotes a police state that will record and store everything 24/7 genius

What if I’m autistic though, and have heavy RSD so can’t handle that without breaking down?

ADHD. Can’t really listen to a list of items and retain the whole list. I just ignore the list of specials now.

The future of tech is everyone just wearing Apple Watches and Airpods Pro 24/7

Or I don’t know, maybe you have a stutter like some people do and you don't want to put you in the position to stutter again. I had a stutter that I managed to cure, but not everyone did this.

She walked away while he was ignoring her and starring at his cool watch.

A lot of people with hard hearing build a shy personality and feel embarrassed to ask people to repeat what they say. Was born with hard hearing, and it can be tough to accept this disability for some. I can see where this is very helpful actually

They could have marketed it better with 4 people at the table. Imagine all are giving their orders one by one while he goes through what she said on his Apple Watch. He’d be ready by the time the waitress reached him. It’d look far less awkward than both of them waiting for him to go through everything 😂

So people wearing an Apple Watch are recording everything I say to them?

This tech puts us directly on the path to that black mirror episode where your eyes record everything and you can play it back when you get in an argument with your partner

Apple will be listening to everything you speak. Privacy nightmare!

That was my exact thought when I saw that clip.. 400 H1B high skilled Apple engineers just spent a year and cost Apple millions of dollars to replace the need to say ‘excuse me can you repeat that’. Absolutely amazing.

All the introverts: What do you mean asking the waitress?

Profilbild von Karsten

It was edited poorly. I think the intent was to be able to revisit the specials after the waitress has left to grab your drinks or whatever before she returns for your order

The waitress spoke at like a million miles per hour. She's obviously busy. I let her keep doing her own thing and just check the shit on my phone.

When you’re hearing starts to go it becomes kind of embarrassing to keep asking people. I totally get the functionality.

sometimes, especially when the place is busy, the waiter might just be in such a rush that you won't have the time to, or able to call them back for a repetition. This is going to be needed in some case scenarios but not all the time.

I think more about cases like me, non native English speaker working in the UK. Still to this day, it happens that I miss something when my colleagues speak or namedrop someone I don’t know.
